I just installed this pack and all I can say is.... WOW

This is the best pack that Peter has produced for the arrangers to date.  Thank you Peter!

Some great sounding analog pads, analog synth leads and plucks.  Also some sound effects and percussion sounds.

Well worth the money.  Oh BTW... there are 16 new Chill-Out styles and 22 Multi Pads banks as well.

Joe,

thanks for your opinion. I have been thinking about getting this expansion, too.

Uli,

The styles that with come this pack are Chill-out and Ballads.  There are some good ambient pad sounds with slow attack, some arp or "pluck sounds", a couple of good analog leads and different sound FX.

This pack works well with the Magic Dance pack, but it's good for slow relaxing music as well.

There is a special introductory offer right now then the price goes up in October.

Real quality sounds for what I believe, is well worth the £42 it costs.

Purchased the pack today for Genos. Nice, good sounding pack.
In addition to what 's already mentioned below regarding the pack contents there's also a set of registration banks which connect styles with the multipads.

I also bought the pack from Peter about a week ago.
Installs easily, great sounds, pads, and styles.
Last year, I asked Peter if he would do a Chill version (carried over from his Synth packs, for the Genos. Effectively, this is what he has done.
More on this later

😊  I started out with nothing .. and I've got most of it left!  😊

Here's a demo I made from one of the styles from this pack using 4 registrations

Style: Ambisphere

Reg #1 = Intro 3 with a custom Multi Pad: Chillout 3
Reg #2 = Main A with Multi Pad: Relaxed Living
Reg #3 = Main B with Multi Pad: Chill Animations
Reg #4 = Ending 3 with Multi Pad: Pad Stopper

R1 is playing Spheric Harp edited in Voice Set with fast Attack (User Voice)
R2 is playing Pop Bell Comp

Reg #2 uses arpeggio: Trance 3
Reg #3 uses arpeggio Synth Sequence 1

All 4 registrations are saved with Sync Start for the style and Sync Start for Multi Pads.  Intro 3 and Ending 3 do not play an arpeggio.

Give a listen. I never thought I could get this kind of sound out of my S970.

Thanks Del and Hans for your compliments... I guess folks here don't really like electronic music (vs "Pop music")

Don't get me wrong, I listen to all kinds of music myself.  I think some folks here would be surprised at all the different types of music I like. I have very eclectic musical tastes. My intent on focusing on EDM is that there is at least SOME representation here on this forum for this very broad genre of music.

:)   ;)

Here's another style from the Dreamscape expansion pack.

This time I just played it normally, no editing... just default settings. For the Multi Pad I just used buttons 1,2, and 3.

Intro 2
Main Sections A, B, C and D (with Fills and Break)
Ending 2

Improvisation on Need you Girl

Hi Joe
Great sounds maybe I should buy the pack

Joe H

Thanks to Jan (styles2psr) and Peter (Easy Sounds) we have a whole new sound coming out of our arranger keyboards, and I'm loving it!  I hope to make a contribution of my own one day... I'm working on some new custom Voice packs and new Multi Pads that are really different from what we have now.

Stay tuned!

;)

Thank you Ton,

I think it's great that Yamaha decided to add expansion capabilities to the arranger keyboard. We are beginning to see 3rd party developers who can offer options for new Voices, custom styles and Multi Pads.

I own a Proteus 1000 sound module upgraded to the 2.26 OS with live arpeggiators. I have selected about 240 of the arps out of around 700 to convert to Multi Pads for the arranger.  There are thousands of arps in the Motif sound module that are compatible with our arrangers, and Peter at Easy Sounds has done some of the conversions for us already with his 2 latest expansion packs... Magic Dance (600 Multi Pads) and Dreamscapes with 16 styles and 88 Multi Pads.

While I respect that there are folks here that want to play the old traditional styles, I think the type of music being played on the arranger is changing slowly over time.  Nothing stays the same. Yamaha knows this and is responding to the market place.

Hi Joe, that's my opinion too. Ofcourse I like the 'traditional' styles, those lovely evergreens, the contemporary hits. I (try to) play them myself regularly. Fantastic styles, great voices are  in most modern new keyboard(arrangers). But for me I want peep over the fence of tradional musicmaking and sounds/harmony. And I am very interested in the EDM-music. And in this genre (too) there are lot of songs/creations I certainly don't like, but there are a lot of compositions I like very much and those ones inspires me.
That is a matter of personal taste, I know, but I listen with an open mind how it is being composed, how the sounds/voices sounds, the harmony and mostly its simple, but catchy lead-melody. It would be a shame when nobody uses all those great DSP's, Arps etc. of the present Yamaha keyboards. So much to explore and so much possibilities. I'm not qualified (yet?) to make them myself, but I enjoy the sounds/voices and sounddesigns that third parties offers. And the products of Jan and Peter (and you, Joe H!) are a part of (my) musical enjoyment. Thanks, Ton
My best regards,
Ton

Hi Joe
That pack sounds great. As you have noted the expansion packs have allowed us to cover the waterfront in musical styles. Always new things to explore. Thanks for the demo's

Hello Joe, I congratulate you excellent sound. I hope to see your masterpiece very soon, made with all these effects and ethereal textures. I also listen to all kinds of music, (from classical to elcetronic) my perception is that traditional and classical music is very broad, but electronic music although it seems that everything is already known, is another world in which you are always exploring new things. Greetings. Hans

Gary,

I think if you purchase the Dreamscapes expansion pack and experiment with altering the Voices in Voice Set and also layering 2 or 3 Voices with OTS you will come close to the sounds in the video.  If you haven't used Voice Set, there are many parameters you can adjust and then save as a User Voice to your USB stick or User Drive.

You can also use the Master EQ to make the T5 sound more mellow.
