Now I tested again the i-TEC USB2HDTRIO adapter on GENOS, and it works beautifully with crisp screen
and the Red Ball Jumping.

ATTENTION >
The VGA adapter consumes a lot of power, so if you connect it directly to the USB to Device of GENOS, it may break down, it may be SAFER to pass through the GENOS USB to Device Output through a POWERED USB hub that can supply power from the outside. I am using this METHOD. GENOS USB to Device terminal is designed for USB PenDrive storage, the power it can supply is small. Therefore I think it is SAFER to use a self-powered USB hub that comes with a large output AC adapter. I have NOT seen any advice on this topic in Yamaha documents. Also, it is necessary to turn on the power of the USB hub and the power of the external LCD Screen before turning on GENOS.

I just also purchased StarTech USB2VGAPRO2 adapter for my Yamaha MODX8, and it is working properly also with the Yamaha MODX8 and also with the Yamaha Genos, but it is more pricey!

The LCD brand is GreenHouse (GH-LCT22C-BK). The connection method with MONTAGE is the USB 2.0 to Device terminal. USB 2.0 HUB is connected and the USB-VGA adapter (Wavlink USB 2.0 VGA / DVI / HDMI multi display adapter) and the USB cable for touch detection of the LCD are connected.
-----------------
The firmware of Montage/MODX supports touch on external display due to the inclusion of touch driver 'egalax'
in GENOS the 'egalax' driver NOT included.

Yamaha published 'GENOS Compatible Display Adapter List July 2019', it shows that the tested USB to VGA / DVI / HDMI adapters are all USB 2.0 variants, specifically the ones with DisplayLink DL-165 or DL-195 chipsets.

Since Genos is equipped with USB 2.0 ports only, it is NECESSARY to stick with USB 2.0 to VGA / DVI / HDMI adapters due to some possible USB 3.0 display driver issues on the Yamaha variant of Linux operating system on Genos. Even though USB 3.0 devices are supposed to be backward compatible with USB 2.0, Yamaha's testing shows that the Linux operating system on Genos is written to support DisplayLink DL-1x5 chipsets, which are USB 2.0 based.

The DisplayLink DL-195 chipset supports resolutions up to 2048x1152, whereas DL-165 chipset supports resolutions up to 1920x1080.

Hi,

One of my favourite passion is playing-along MIDI files (even Yamaha suggested to discover the joy of PlayAlong MIDI files), that is why I purchased a lot of MIDI files on the Yamaha MusicSoft website, and also purchased the Yamaha GENOS with the hope that I will have a better MIDI PlayAlong experiece with this new, promising GENOS dream machine in this special field of playing, than with my old Yamaha PSR S950. That is why I need to follow the score video with the Red Ball running and jumping on the Genos Touch Screen. Also I wanted to use the GENOS score video to teach my grandchildren to score reading and how to playalong.

I was struggling in vain (( I tried the i-TEC USB2HDTRIO adapter, (no success, it is useless if one wants to follow the running score video)) to get a decent external duplication of the score of the GENOS Touch Screen with the Red Ball jumping. So I decided to make my own setup.
1. bought Microsoft LifeCam Cinema HD (webcam) its driver is included in Windows 10, but also works well in Windows 7 or 8 or even in Windows XP, if you download LifeCam3.60.exe from here >
https://www.microsoft.com/accessories/en-au/d/lifecam-cinema
and install it while online with an Internet connection.
(You does not need to install Live Essentials, when it is offered during the installation process)
The Microsoft LifeCam Cinema HD >, its autofocus works very well even with close-ups, and with dim lighting conditions (I have practically no lights in my studio when I am playing, but the LifeCam Cinema provides crystal clear video output.). I fixed and properly aligned this LifeCam Cinema (it is very small, miniature cam) approx. 16 cm from above the Genos Touch Screen on a semi-flexible 3 mm electrical wire with black coating on it. Its down end (twisted into an U-shape). is inserted underneath of the Genos and the wire is coming out under the sheet music hold. The only drawback of this design is a slight vibration of the TV image becasue when I am playing the semi-flexible wire, - holding the LifeCam  - picks-up some of keyboard vibrations.
So in my next setup I will be more careful that the wire should not get into contact with the Genos casing.
2. purchased NCH Debut Video Capture Software (because the Microsoft LifeCam Cinema's original screen cannot go to full screen, that is why NCH Debut Video Capture is better in this respect >
https://www.nchsoftware.com/capture/plus.html
NCH Debut Video Capture works well with the Microsoft LifeCam Cinema HD, and can go out to full screen mode.
3. connected Microsoft LifeCam Cinema HD via USB to my Windows 10 laptop, installed the NCH Debut Video Capture, then I connected my large LCD TV via HDMI to my latop also.
------------------
Now on my big (40") LCD TV I see the Genos Touch Screen Score running in HD, extremely clear.
nicely focused with the Red Ball also jumping and running,
enabling me to follow the score without flexing my neck down,
and now I can comfortably play-along my MIDI files.
So, when I am playing I am not forced any more to flex my neck down for hours to see the awful, not properly tilted Touch Screen of the Genos.
This design also can be hopefully suitable (with slight modifications) for playing outdoors in daylight, because the LCD TV screen will be readable in outside conditions. This setup can also help the visually impaired, because with the Windows 10 built-in Magnifier, the whole TV screen video or parts of it (or the Genos Touch Screen parts) can be further magnified.

I purchased my Yamaha GENOS in December of 2017, and upon its arrival I immediately recognized, that the Touch Screen score video is NOT WORKING !!! on an external display from the USB. That is why my GENOS was left untouched until August of 2018, because I was not able to use it as I planned.
I am still not able to figure out why Yamaha eliminated the Video output (which is usable on my old PSR-S950), causing disillusionment, and a lot of extra expenses, and neck-pain to its customers.

While my GENOS was sitting silent, and abandoned under a dust cover for nearly a year, I tried the software
route, but still locked in the Yamaha Camp, I purchased a DAW, Cubase (100% Yamaha owned now), now Cubase Pro 9.5 installed in my self-assembled extra strong Corei7 Samsung SSD Windows 10 musical desktop computer (see the new Audio Architecture of Windows 10 below), of which is working in another room upstairs to avoid all computer noises, purchased Yamaha HS8 WH Studio Monitors (to replace my old JBL 308 in my Home Theater), purchased synth as Omnisphere 2.5, and a lot of state-of-the-art VSTs (VSL Vienna Imperial, Ivory II, Garritan CFX Concert Grand, Hauptwerk Bovenkerk Hinsz Organ, U-he Zebra2 and Diva synths,
Steinberg Iconica Opus < just recently) and after a long time of digesting through the steep learning curve of Cubase, I produced nice VIDEO MUSICALS (Chopin, JS Bach, Mozart and modern Jazz)  for my evening guests, a Video (edited in my Cyberlink PowerDirector 16) and a MIDI file is running in Cubase, along with my purchased Avid Sibelius notation program via ReWire in synch with Cubase, and this way I become able to play-along the MELODY-line (or play exclusively by myself also other parts through VSTs) of the running MIDI files, seeing and following the running sheet music score in Sibelius on my extra large LCD TV - (tried also Dorico 2, but that cannot work in ReWire mode and no Panoramic playback view, therefore I opted for the excellent, beautifully made, rock-solid stable, time-tested Sibelius) -, while my guests are seeing my projected Video-films in my Home Theater accompanied by my own keyboard playing on my Studiologic SL88 MIDI Controller, or on my self-assembled
GSi - DMC-122 Dual Midi Console with Doepfer 25 note pedalboard.
My Graphic Processor Unit (GPU) is capable to run 3 monitors, a big LCD TV is attached through a 10 meters HDMI cable, I follow and handle the video and audio in Cubase and the running score in Sibelius on this, the second one is to
my low-noise projector attached through a 10 meters VGA (D-Sub) cable, and the third outpout is connected to another small monitor in front of me, to enable me to see if the projection-screen is working fine behind my back.
Yamaha GENOS is also working in my Home Theater, with 2 laptops, the first laptop is running the Microsoft LifeCam Cinema, the second laptop is connected with a singing microphone (Shure SM58S)
http://www.shure.com/americas/products/microphones/sm/sm86-vocal-microphone
https://www.amazon.com/Shure-SM58S-Vocal-Microphone-Switch/dp/B0000AQRSU
hanging on a special side-mounted holder (Rode PSA1 Swivel Mount Studio Microphone Boom Arm), this is absoultely safe, the heavy microphone will NOT drop on the Yamaha Genos, while you are singing >
https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B001D7UYBO/ref=dp_olp_all_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=all
Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2nd Gen, - attached to the second laptop, - was also needed, because the dynamic mic cannot work with only USB power > https://focusrite.com/usb-audio-interface/scarlett/scarlett-solo
Yamaha GENOS has phantom-power output, if you want to use condenser mic, but I think the Shure SM58S
is much better, and will not pick up annoying room noises.
Also a Hosa Switcher was needed to route the audio signal to and fro my GENOS and my upstairs computer >
https://hosatech.com/products/analog-audio/audio-switchers/slw-333/
and a JBL Nano Patch for controlling the audio volume of the Yamaha HS8 Studio Monitors >
http://www.jblpro.com/www/products/recording-broadcast/monitor-controllers/nano-patch-plus#.XFXtDWtG3-s

This way I use Yamaha GENOS to entertain my guests during the dinner, by playing along MIDI files,
(see MY GENOS REPERTOIRE No1 below) and after dinner I switch to my second setup, my musical-videos accompanied by my own playing as described above.

loopMIDI < was also needed, to create a loopMIDI Port
https://www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/loopmidi.html
MIDI-OX < was also needed to route my SL88 MIDI Controller Keyboard signal to Cubase and also to VMPK
http://www.midiox.com/
A foot-pedal was also needed to quickly switch through my VSTs and synths during my live performance,
I found this PageFlip Firefly useful, because it can be programmed as PgDown and PgUp >
https://pageflip.com/products/firefly
Scythe USB_2FS-2 USB Foot Switch with 2 Pedals < this is also works well even without any programming
(PgDown and PgUp)
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Scythe-USB_2FS-2-Foot-Switch-Pedals/dp/B004FS0120
Also a small software was needed, to keep Sibelius Always On Top > Window on Top >
https://www.skybn.com/window-always-on-top/
I used the Virtual MIDI Piano Keyboard (VMPK) to show to my guests on the projected screen,
what and how I am playing >
http://vmpk.sourceforge.net/
and with AutoHotKey I made VMPK semi-transparent on the projected screen >
https://autohotkey.com/
Also several USB 2.0 Active Extender/Repeater cables were needed to connect my Home Theater MIDI Keyboards and other peripherals to my upstairs computer 10 meters apart >
https://www.tripplite.com/usb-2.0-high-speed-active-extension-repeater-cable-a-male-female-10m-33-ft~U02610M
With the above cables I was able to avoid latency issues.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But in August of 2018, I vacuumed the dust from my GENOS, - as I solved a TV External Display for it-, and put it into my Home Theater also, together with my Yamaha MG06 Mixer, and to my great surprise, the GENOS sound is far more fabulous, than that of some of my most expensive VSTs.
So, I hope Yamaha will develop a close integration of GENOS with Cubase, because GENOS together with Cubase has the potential to evolve into the best Home Theater Live Entertainment System (see the painting of Henryk Siemiradzki below as Chopin playing to his guests).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One word of caution > If you work with wires etc over the GENOS Touch Screen, be extremely careful, not to drop anything on the screen, because Yamaha opted for a resistive touch screen (instead of a capacitive touch screen) in GENOS, and it is very vulnerable to hard objects, as its topmost outer layer is a soft thin plastic film (see the image below).

That is why I purchased a special protective film here >
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192384699320?rmvSB=true
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1kqRu-xCQA
This protective film is excellent, does not impair the touch sensitivity of the GENOS screen, and hopefully will extend the life-span of the vulnerable resistive GENOS touch screen.
When you put this protective film onto the GENOS Touch Screen, carefully observe, that it has a thin protection film on itself, this should be carefully removed, and the freed surface (which should not be touched or wiped) of the film should be gently layed down on the GENOS screen as shown in the video.

I admit that the Yamaha GENOS has a breathtaking sound, and apart from its not-well-designed touch screen,
now I like it very much, it is a fantastic music-making companion for me.

Best wishes to all GENOS users.

Regards

HeJaYamGen

Orange arrow points to the Microsoft LifeCam Cinema HD.
Green arrow points to my home made Genos stand. It also holds the laptop and the Yamaha woofer and can be moved easily on its lockable wheels. This stand also have a sliding-out drawer on the right side to place the bluetooth Microsoft laptop mouse for my right hand.

Genos resistive TouchScreen design also can be seen >

If somebody interested I can give the construction measurements of my Genos stand.
As you see, the sheet music hold of the Genos can be removed,
because on the large TV screen (through the laptop)
one can use sheet music PDF reader software like this >

Music is a moral law. It gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, a charm to sadness, and life to everything. It is the essence of order, and leads to all that is good, just and beautiful, of which it is the invisible, but nevertheless dazzling, passionate, and eternal form (Plato).

2 Ogonek  -  a Russian song about the separation of a man and his girlfriend during WWII:
The song's title can be translated as 'a little fire'.    The theme and lyrics of Ogonek can be traced back to a poem written in 1942 by Mikhail Isakovsky, who later composed the lyrics of the song. And wrote music by Matvey Blanter. The song was popularized during World War 2, as many Soviet soldiers had access to an accordion, and when they rested, they would often play patriotic and emotional songs.

Interesting!
But we really need to get away from VGA, it's too limited, especially for future and HD.
So is DVi. HDMI will carry 10K! Fast Ethernet, Digital Audio and audio return
