Hello everybody,

I stumbled upon this:

http://www.1manband.nl/ombi/index.htm

One Man Band is a Mac/PC software with which you can play style files from your computer following the chords you play on your keyboard with the sound engine of your keyboard ; it is now available as an iPad app.

The app costs 32 € on the French AppStore (check the price in USD or whatever your local currency is on your local AppStore) but there is a free fully-fledged version with ten incorporated styles for you to try the app out before buying it. The pay version can import style files directly on the iPad. You simply connect your keyboard to your iPad with the well-known Camera Connction Kit and an USB printer cable like you would do for any other app.

I intend to try the free version of the One Man Band app on my DGX 650 before deciding to buy the full version. This is interesting news because the DGX has really nice voices, but style wise, it is fairly limited (only 1 intro, 2 variations and 1 ending per style, no style editor onboard) and I am happy if this app helps me to expand its auto-accompaniment flexibility. It is great because obviously, an iPad is far more portable than a computer.

I thing this app will be a great add-on for the possessors of "small" arrangers like the DGX 620 to 660, the PSR E3xx and the PSR E4xx, as well as the PSR EW keyboards.. or for keyboards with no arranging capabilities whatsoever like the Motif, Kronos etc. (apparently the app will work with any GM2 enabled keyboard), provided you have an iPad of course.

Enjoy  8)

Best Regards,

Vinciane.

This sounds like a great addition for keyboards with somewhat limited styles !!!!

Congrats in finding it.
