Got my new Maui 5 speakers today. Have some questions. When using them with my Yamaha MG82cx Mixer, pluged into line inputs on back, it seems like you have to set the line input level and main level much higher then on the Bose Compacts. I have to almost crank them all the way up to get the same volume as the Bose at half way. Also the high boost knob doesn't seem to make much difference where ever you set it. At least at the higher settings I don't get any clipping. Any help appreciated, Thanks, Ron

Yes, you set the levels higher than on the Bose.  Actually almost half the range on the Bose is unusable in my experience.
I have both my Maui 5s main volume knobs at 3/4, or 75 percent.  I have never tried them at higher levels, I suppose because I turned them up until they sounded loud enough and I haven't moved them.  I pretty much stay in the same room all the time.
I find myself having to roll off a little bass, mostly because I'm set up on a wooden stage and near walls.  I have the highs straight up, or neutral.

Thanks Don, I'm assuming you are using your mixer plugged into the line mono jacks on the back. Do I need to run both the main and line-in volumes at 3/4 open. I'm running the sub level between 1/4 and 1/3 open, does that sound about right. Thanks, Ron

Sounds about right, but only your ears can tell you.  A lot depend on the room.
I mostly have the mixer hooked up so if I have a guest singer or player I'm ready for them.  When I'm alone it isn't necessary.

Thanks Don, Just wanted to bounce that off you so I could be sure. Ron

Hey Don, I know this should be a mismatch, but have you ever tried plugging your mixer or keyboard into the guitar jacks. This works very good. Much better than using the line inputs. Using a balanced ring-tip sleeve 1/4" works great. Volume at 1/2, gives good sound. I heard on one of the Maui demo videos that this jack is for both guitar and keyboards. Try it, Ron

No I haven't tried it, but now I will have to.  If it blows up I'm coming to get YOURS!  :)
