I do not know whether the adaptation of Genos styles to Tyros 4 is fully legitimate.
Greetings.

What did Peter Baartmans himself says about copyright of the styles (Yamaha didn't copyright the styles!): look from minute 12.20 in this videoworkshop ...

Understandable: why does Yamaha included the copying, deleting, changing and all that tweaking stuff in their keyboards? It's for many people a part of the joy. Copyright and Patents are bussiness for lawyers, as long people don't make money out of the work of others... enjoy. Be creative without the constraint of frontiers.

Don't worry, be happy  ;)

Happy tweaking, Ton 8)

Hi erbis

I think Peter Baartmans makes it clear in this video the position of Yamaha regarding styles,I would not worry too  much

What Peter meant was that if you play out or record a song using a style there is no restriction. You purchased the right to use the styles for your own use and to be listened to. It becomes a different issue when giving these styles away. As we all know most sites are trolled and styles then land up being sold on E Bay and other places.

Thank you for your explanations.
In my case I adjusted Genos style to my Tyros 4, recorded my own composition and posted a link to make Colleagues hear how this style sounds in a particular composition.
So is that OK and I have not broken the law?
I ask you because I would not like to have any problems.
I would add that I have never traded any styles.
I greet and count on an answer in this regard.
erbis/Ryszard.

I would add that I have the Genos styles from our excellent Forum.

Hi Ryszard

As Eileen has stated, you have used the style for your own use and made it available for others to listen to in your composition.
It seems very clear to me that there is no infringement of Yamaha copyright with what you have done.

There are already 2 threads concerning this subject (1 deleted ) maybe it is time to put this subject to bed ,it seems to be causing much controversy

Thank you very much, Alan.
Copyright always raises a lot of controversy, especially at the Forum, where there are styles of accompaniment.
