After 7 years non playing the keyboards, I've picked up (trying) keyboardplaying again. My last keyboard was an Technics KN7000 (which I loved) and after careful consideration I have tried out and finally bought a Tyros 5 (76). (The price was right, thanks to the new Genos  ;))
I dust off my Logitech Z2300-set. Connect my PC and Tyros 5 throught a mixer and that set. Did some EQ-ing (read a post on this forum) and ..... oh boy, what a fantastic sound!!!! loved it.
The EQ-ing results in a great sound....

Now I have to pick up the Operation System and freshen up my playing skills.
This forum is a tremendous bulk of knowledge, lot to read and learn.
But this great keyboard inspires...
Thanks for reading, gr. Ton (from Holland) 8)
My best regards,

Congrats, Ton! Enjoy your new Tyros 5.
Did you still keep your KN7000?

Thank you Tomtomsf, no I've sold the KN7000. I hope that the buyer gets inspired too with keyboarding. Only memories ( and some mp3-files) are left  ;) . In my perception, it was in that time Always a fair competition between Technics and Yamaha. I had the whole series of technics (AX7, 800, 1000, 2000, 3000, 5000 and the last 7000). Didn't keep the former keyboard either. Then Technics stopped. Nowadays there are a few other brands, which are competetive with Yamaha. That's good for the consumers. As I only play for personal joy, the Tyros 5 is all (and more) I need. Will it be the last one I purchased?? Time will tell as I'm 70+  ;)
With this new toy I will focus on an integration with Cubase (Artist 9). I'm going to concentrate on playing/composing EDM and, of course nany of my favorite 'evergreens'.
Happy keyboarding, Ton  8)

Thank you Jeff, for sure the T5 is great, but also large (76 keys version). Now I have to rearrange the workspace in my 'home-studio' too  :-\. But I'm not complaining as the weather outside is bad,... Gr. Ton

Wow, Ton, what a nice addition you have made.

Well ,if you ever consider that a PSR S-770 fits better in your studio, mine is available for an exchange  ::)  :P

I hope you enjoy it at it best,

Regards!
Blessed be the Lord God Almighty!

Well done Ton,

I'm sure you'll not regret the purchase and have hours of enjoyment.

Had mine 18 months and no plans to change as I love the keyboard.

Not done much with EQ setting though, altered Reveb on a lot of my voices.

Enjoy and have fun.

Thank you @Lesh and @Toril, even in the few days I own it,  I have discovered so many great things on what the Tyros 5 offers, much more than I expected. This means that I'm more happy than I wrote in the Subject-line, ergo: I'm happy happy  ;D

Congrats.  I love my new T5 as well.  It will take me some time to come to grips with all it can do.

Thanks Mike, readed your post further on, so I can imagine your happiness too  ;) . I presume that a lot more 'new' T5-owners will join the forum thanks to the appearance of the Genos. I listened to some of my old KN7000 songs (on MP3) and compared those a few (symple!) songs played on the Tyros 5 and than it is very clear that time didn't stood still, allthough I loved my KN7 a lot. Indeed so many things to explore as the Yamaha OS is totally new for me. I certainly will meet some grr's.., how to do that's..,  or what is that's.... For sure, but that is for me a part of the joy  ;) Regards Ton 8)

Hello on,

Enjoy your T5, it is a great keyboard. I got my T5 in July as an upgrade from my S950. The S950 is a great keyboard and the T5 is fantastic.

My best to you,

Ed

Hi Ton

You now own a great keyboard, like you I also had some Technics keyboards,Kn2000,Kn5000,Kn6000 and finally a Kn7000 which I traded in for the T5-76 They were sure good keyboards and much missed,I sometimes wonder what they would be making now if they had continued to manufacture them.
I now have the Genos which I am slowly learning to use.

I wish you many happy hours of Tyros music and also a good Christmas

Regards

Alan

Hi Alan, I had a few Technics instruments too:
KN1000, KN2000, KN5000. I also had a lovely SX-EX70 organ. I still miss the style editing features of the KN5000, and the Control Track in the sequencer. Like you, I often wonder how things would be now if the company was still up & running!

Kind regards,
Will

Hi Ton, I've had a few Technics instruments too (as listed in my response to Alan) and, at one time, seriously considered a KN7000, but the company ceased to trade. That's when I started with the Tyros range and (now with the T5/76) have had them all! All the best to you with your T5/76, I'm sure you will love it! 😊

Kind regards,
Will

For  me I think having 'arrangers' before like the Technics line is an advantage having learned tweaking your keyboard. So the basics are still between my ears, be it that I Have to discover them where they are hidden in the Yammie.
I knew that some of the Technics/Panasonic guys went to Yamaha in the past, maybe the Yammie has little bit a KN8000 Soul  ;D ;D ;D

Thank you.  Yes, I, too, had a Techniques KN7000 that I ended up trading in for a PSR S710 and then trading that in for a PSR S910.  I never sold that one.  But I did buy another two Yammies - the MOX F8 88 key and my new Tyros 5 76 key.  The only non-Yammies I own are the Korg Karma and the Korg M3 88 key.

I believe I have enough keyboard power to start a Keyboard war!

I also have TB's of virtual instruments and sample collections/Kontakt libraries - way, way, way too much sonic power for any one person to yield.
