Hi,
Interesting thought. Multiply the cost by the amount sold. High price not so many sold, drop the price sell a lot more and make a bigger profit.  A lot of supermarkets now do it so why not keyboards.

Agreed, Oldden. That's the way of the world now, as in the Walmart and Costco models. I know someone who sold parts at a very low margin. The resulting high volume made him a multi-millionaire.
"Learn" your music correctly, then "practice" it. Don't practice mistakes because you'll learn them.

LOL Lee Batchelor; Joe just put up a song from me that I sent him in my Jukebox."That's the Way of  the World"

If we get into music theory and proper execution of playing that's another whole thing ! , but a good part of people who buy these home keyboards just want to entertain themselves and create different sounding music whether its accurate right or not. Unless your a pro musician or music teacher does it really matter how if your having fun and sounds OK
I can understand when something like a Geno's comes out we would like to see someone really good put it through its paces, but really can the majority who buy it really play like a Martin Harris and so forth.
Have fun create and relax your soul with music and enjoy it for what it is.

Hello, friends. The lists of "cheezy" things to do on the keyboard was interesting and to some extent helpful. But for me, creating those odd sound combinations is some of the fun! It must not always be authentic. The demo was great! The keyboards are wonderful machines, but only the individual player can bring them to life and make them sound as they wish :) Have fun :)

Economics 101 - lowering the price and selling a few more does not increase the profit. It decreases the profit per keyboard sold and the increase in sales volume doesn't often override the profit loss. Been there - Done that - got the Tee shirt!

A list of cheesy things to do on a keyboard might be OK in a general sense, but not when it is applied to an actual person's performance. In the context of a posted performance which the original comments on the thread were, it is negative and rude and contravenes the forum's normal posting guidelines on performances. In this case the performance was pulled from utube, and labeled 'a demo' so it could be argued it was not really a forum performer, and some leeway given, but it still pushes the boundaries.

For me, the goal is to keep growing/learning.

I'm myself ;D

I'm not a pro-musician or demonstrator if that is what you're asking (Yamaha, if you are reading this, you can still sponsor a Genos  ::)). Just another keyboard enthusiast  ;)

Hi Joost,

I always enjoy your Youtube videos.  Your 12 years of classical training shines through every time.

:)

Kind Regards,
