Memory overwriting usb sticks

The memory seems to have stored the contents of a memory stick and whatever stick I plug in gets overwritten with the contents of the first stick.
I have tried setting everything to factory settings but the original stick is still there.I have tried a number of different sticks and lost a lot of not backed up registrations and style.
Has anyone had a similar problem?

Hi @DallasW,

I think it is impossible that the keyboard could "overwrite" a connected USB stick with any data "without asking". If you were to manually save or copy something to the stick, this data would be added to the data that are already on the stick. And if, in the worst case, you accidentally triggered the function to format the USB stick on the keyboard, the stick would then be completely empty.

Note that the keyboard can only read FAT32 formatted sticks. If a stick with a different, unsupported format (e.g. exFAT or NTFS) is connected, the keyboard offers to re-format the stick. This message must of course NOT be confirmed with YES if the data on the stick is needed for something else, because formatting is known to delete all data on the stick.

By the way, could it be that in this case you did not access the USB stick at all, but the internal USER drive? To access the User drive, touch "User > User" in the relevant File Selection display, to access the connected USB stick, touch "User > USB1".

It is also important to know that all File Selection displays are filtered by file type. This means that in the STYLE Selection display you only see Style files, in the REGISTRATION BANK Selection display you only see Registration Bank files, and so on. FOLDERS on the USB stick are displayed in all File Selection displays. So if a folder that should actually contain files is shown as EMPTY, you are probably in the "wrong" File Selection display.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Chris
