Hi Thomas,

Umm.  I'm not sure I understand what you mean by a "Tubular Bells" style.  I think of Tubular bells as a voice.  Or is there a specific piece of music called "Tubular Bells" that you want a style to use?

Mike Oldfield's "Tubular Bells" he is most likely asking a style for. I have not come across this ambient/new age piece as an arranger style. Probably best to play the arpeggio with a piano-bell voice in the right hand and some sort of pad/bass/beat in the left.

Thomas750:
I don't think you'll ever find a style for Tubular Bells given the number of variations within the piece. However if it helps, I have uploaded a few midi files that may be of some use. Perhaps you could extract or edit the re-occurring bass line and improvise with the right hand. Alternatively, edit the midi file to play only selected tracks and use that for playback accompaniment. This is the first time I have use 'Box' so hope the link works?

As a footnote - the 'Tubular Bells - part 1' runs to approx 1000 bars!

Hope this helps

Chalky

Don't forget that in the iconic first minutes of the piece, every fourth bar is in 9/8, so any style is going to be a poor compromise.

If you want to share anything, please observe the forum rules.

Quote from forum rules on posting:
'members who wish to share material such as midi files, music sheets, style files, etc. with other members should upload that material to their personal online storage account and then share the link. There are many online storage services available, some of which are free.  A few examples of online storage services are as follows: Microsoft OneDrive, Guets are not allowed to view links. In order to access the links, please Register or Login, Google Drive, etc.

Basically you need to have an account on an online storage service (I recently opened a free account on BOX), upload your file to that service and then post a LINK (as below) on the forum so people can download from the link. As an example take a look at this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klPxYJWu87A&ab_channel=AnsonAlexander

Who you choose to act as your online service is entirely your choice.

Hope this helps

PS which keyboard will your style be for?

I used your midi file, removed all markers then tested different areas of the song.
i did it to see if it could be done.
Its good in places but needs further editing. Will work on any tyros and sx.
