Have fun!

● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

Of course! That's their business.... 🤣
Some might say my S900 is obsolete but to me it's as good as it was when I got it. But I think, having watched some of the ads and videos, I might try the SX720... it's tempting me. I like some of the new features I see and the new operating system is interesting too.

Hi Aprilia, I made exactly this change, from a PSR-S900 to a PSR-SX720. The main reason was that the display on my PSR-S900 was broken.

The difference in sound is very small, especially if you have a subwoofer connected to the S900.

Of course there are hundreds of new voices, some of which sound a little better, some not.

The styles are more modern and you can use all SFF2 styles without any problems.

I find the keyboard to be much better than on the PSR-S900.

The operating system seems more modern thanks to the touchscreen, but it has essentially remained the same. The touchscreen makes some operations clearer, but some are also more confusing and complicated. But it's okay.

I find it impractical that the registrations are not positioned in the middle like on the S900.

The SX720 is essentially an SX900 without Vocal Harmony. This means you can use all the styles of the SX900 without any problem. (But not the expansion packs, if they are only intended for the SX900.)

Copy all the styles from the S900 onto a memory stick. The SX720 has all the voices of the S900, but not all the styles.

Is the SX720 a big musical improvement over the S900? In my opinion not. But it probably can't be, because the S900 was already very good.

Do I enjoy the SX720? Yes.

Would I buy it again? I think so, yes.

Yes, the screen. Mine is broken since November 2015, so nearly 10 years. I was here on psrtutorial when it happened to many of the S900s and we were all very sad. One after the other reporting the failure. My external screen allows me to use it but it is not always as easy as playing with the keyboard controls should be, so sometimes I'm pressing the wrong button and just don't have fun with it. It would be nice not to have that feeling. But when I would think about changing there was never a difference I thought worth it for me. The S900 is very nice, even still.

But there is something about the SX720 that is appealing to me.... For a little while I was considering the SX920 but I think I would not use the features which make them different. But I had to delay and consider that, just in case. But no, I wouldn't, so the SX720 is my choice. Did you try the SX920? I can't try either but I wouldn't try the SX920, I did my research and it's nice but it's not for me.

I hope I don't mind the registration position being moved, maybe I can use a pedal if I don't like where it is.

I am glad you like your SX720, and find it a good upgrade move... I hope I do too!

Good tip thanks... I need all the tips you think of, I just bought it 😁
