Is there a how to YouTube video showing how to copy and paste style parts from one style to an other, that is using the new Yamaha touch screen system?

Thanks
Drake

Hi Drake,

Maybe this video ("Style Assembly - combine parts from any Style to create your own new Style") from the Yamaha Global YT channel will help you:

● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

Thanks Chris

I had that much figured out from a Bonner video.

Before you can move a part from one Main to another Main, the 2 have to be the same length (or the one you are moving the part into has to be longer than the one being copied).

Maybe you don't have to check that any more. If not they ought to explain how to check the 2 styles and how to length the one the part is to go into.

Okay, I got it now.

I am beginning to really like this SX920 BUT I still miss the Music Finder.

Hi Drake
The only thing I have never liked about the Music Finder is that the MFD file is programmed to use the preset styles and you will often get three or 4 songs in a row where it's chosen the same style for each .. Never tried it but since you can program the MFD files I wonder if you can re-direct the file to use a custom style off the hard drive.  What I did like about the playlist is that you could load a pile of Fake book MFD's onto a USB and the keyboard would convert each batch into playlists and you then simply select a song and play it!

I loaded the Music Finder with only my own stuff. I have all my styles on a USB stick and link the MF to each one of them.

You can set the MF to start with your intro (or even a MAIN) and the go to the MAIN automatically.
You can enter KEY WORDS to use to find all the songs you are going to use for a set (such as S01, S02, S03, ... S22).

I even have the key I transpose into to play each song at the end of each song title (such as +2 for D, +4 for E and +0 for C).

I'll hopefully figure something to use on the SX920, it has a Search feature.

Thanks Drake

On my old SX900 I used to download a complete MFD folder (from the Fake Book files on the PSR tutorial which would have all the songs in that folder) So let's say I had the EL folder on the USB and that had all my Elvis songs in it. The 900 would then create the TSV playlist with the same name (EL)  so if I wanted to do a set of Elvis songs I would simply open the EL playlist click on a song and play it.  Obvious if you wanted more variety your folder would have a gig set that suited you but I found that having a performer folder was actually quicker to access .. so play a couple of songs from your EL playlist then move to a new folder and do the same. I must admit that I found the playlist system just as easy to use. If you wanted a gig list using your custom styles then you could make the songs into a music finder MFD and then let the 920 create the playlist files.
