Greed knows no bounds

Greed knows no bounds.
A while ago I was considering buying an electric car. I thought about it and considered my previous purchases.
I had a Lowrey Symphonic Holiday and I considered myself well done. However, the salesman at our music shop showed me the PSR 1100 and I was wrapped, I bought it. Two weeks later a friend bought the PSR 2100 which had the organ flutes but was $1500 more in price. I waited. I went to a Yamaha convention and the salesman there showed the PSR S500, the PSR S700 and the PSR S900. When I queried these he told me the PSR S900 had a better updated motherboard and was far superior to the other two. I bought the PSR S900. Not long afterwards, out came the PSR S910! A friend invited my wife and myself to a gig and she had a Tyros 1! WOW. Later, at a dance, I noticed that the three women had a Tyros each but they were swapping floppy disks. I thought that I would like one but they were too expensive. As time went by the floppy disks went and were replaced by a hard drive. At the music shop the salesman said that the Tyros 4 was the best thing since sliced bread. I bought my Tyros 4. Not long after that out came Tyros 5! BUT it had YEM. Now all my UVN voices were no good for that. I was happy with what I had. Then Genos came along and I brought one home. The touch screen reflected the light and I had problems with coming to terms with the touch screen. I retuned I was advised to buy the SX900. I bought that and took it home. Later, a man wanted it more than I did. He explained that as I did not sing then the vocal part was no value and the chord looper was not on my menu so I sold it to him. I bought the SX700 which is still with me snuggled up to my Tyros 4.
Now you may be wondering what this is all about with my electric car. Well it won't be long before a new battery system comes out. My 2024 car won't accept the new batteries. Then the charging system on the new cars will need a V E R Y expensive adaptor because all the charging points along the way will be out of date.
Just check back to 2011 with the mobile phones!  Almost every six months a new improved expensive one hits the market. 2G, 3G. 4G, mine is 5G whatever that is.
To sum this up, be happy with what you have. Unless you are a professional studio musician, all these keyboards make a noise. No one yet has been able to tell if I am playing my Tyros 4, my SX700 or my PSR S970.
They are just out to get you money.

Hi Denn

I really do feel for you and I do agree with you on all points. I was actually watching a UK video on how to do this and that on your Tyros 4 and yo and behold the bottom of the screen was a running ad saying we will give you $XXX trade in if you get a Genos 2 ..it sorta said to me that "you are telling me how to do stuff I never knew about on a keyboard that came out in 2010 but what you would really like is I ignore the tutorial and come and buy the latest model. I do appreciate they have to make a living but I honestly prefer to get what I want and if it does the job I really don't care if it's 14 years old .. The T4 actually (to me) has a nicer layout and a better sound than the SX900 that I used to own and sold due to noisy key beds and it came out 9 years later.  Where we are iPhones are up to the 15Pro now at well over $1000 and I still have my $39.95 phone with buttons.    Watch an Apple store when the next iPhone is released ..people queue at 4am just to get one ...I have a feeling the consumer is just as greedy!!  Whatever you do..keep your Tyros 4 !
