From what model Yamaha do I need to be looking at that will allow me to use a memory stick to play Mp3.......TIA

DrakeM

Are looking for the cheapest new one that will work? Or are you looking to purchase an old used one that will work?

pjd

No simple answer. What is your budget?

SX700/SX900 and Genos can play MP3 directly from a USB flash drive. Other solutions play back digital audio through the USB audio interface function, if implemented.

Plus, one can playback audio through an AUX INPUT, if implemented.

Can the Tyros 3 play from a USB Stick?

DrakeM

I am not use that the Tyros 3 used MP3 files. It did use a USB stick.

The Tyros 4, I think was the first keyboard to use and record MP3 files.

Hopefully a former Tyros 3 user will respond.

A Tyros 3 keyboard is 16 years old (10 years is a good run), you ought to get very cheap. Parts to fix it will not be available for the most part.

Yes, you're correct, Drake: Tyros3 / PSR-S910 and older cannot play MP3. Tyros4 / PSR-S950 (not S750!) and newer can play MP3.

Tyros4/5 can of course also play MP3 directly from the USB stick.

By the way, Tyros 4/5 as well as Genos1/2 cannot record in MP3 format (but only in WAV format)..

Chris
