An interesting list, indeed (GENOS2)

Dont think it has much to do with fuzzy messages, or how many people are interested in both. Its just marketing 101 - companies typically don't launch two quite different products at the same time as it dilutes response from media and the public.

I think we would have had some information a leaked photo or something.

Yamaha does not take kindly to unauthorized leaks. I've gotten a take down request (or two) in the past. Yamaha are paranoid control freaks. No GENOS2 leak means no one is risking their job/livelihood with Yamaha.

This is exactly right. Thanks, Mike.  :)

Hello guys,

To those who still have doubts, Genos 2 or whatever it will be called is coming!!
The newcomer will be launched in mid-November.
That's why I immediately put my Genos up for sale, it took just over a day and it was sold!!
In the meantime I can continue exploring with my Pa5x.
The pre-order for the new Genos has already taken place!
Those looking to replace their Genos, now is the time!
Waiting now and selling after the launch will lower the price in the market.

Dear @musicman01, it seems you have become a true believer  ;D. Would you like to share with us how you came to that belief? ;)
My best regards,
Ton

Genos2 appeared in a list of models for registration process in Indonesia, someone discovered several weeks ago.
This list contained P-525, FDGP-xxx and Montage M 6,7,8 models that were officially launched since.

We can trust Sud-Clavier information. It is a well-known dealer in France.
In their website they put information about a new keyboard in the arranger page just above the genos v2.0 information.
They organize a meeting for the launch of a new keyboard on November 16th.

« Arnaud » will be present at this meeting.

Arnaud Delaunay is a French Yamaha demonstrator. Effectively there is no official information yet.

Hello Sound Phase,
I enjoy reading sensible lines which confirm what I said previously but which is still subject to doubt.

All my thanks with my best regards.

Christian

Soundphase, can you post the link with that information or a screenshot, I don't find anything you said they wrote about a new keyboard, please .

Thanks

Dear Ton,

Don't think you're blind, do you?
If there isn't enough information available now, it never will be!
Christian has already provided the necessary information here!!!
A prominent "---" employee whose name I don't want to say didn't want to say anything,
but between the lines he clearly hinted "if you want to upgrade you have to sell now"

ton37

LOL, it's quite a fun and entertaining way to do some fact-checking, no more, no less. I don't take away anyone's right to believe or not believe anything. And..., the subject is not an earth-shattering item for pleasant guessing.
So the statement is: There will be a demonstration by a Yamaha demonstrator of the new Genos at Sud-Claviers on November 16.
Facts: it is a bit mysterious on the Sud-Clavier site (nice free advertising and no keyboard is mentioned) + Some people here say they have heard from a reliable source that .. + a mysterious code on an Indonesian website.

Eehhh: the source should be Yamaha, right? ;)
My best regards,
Ton

reya

Ton,
There is also the fact that on the website from a Dealer in the Netherlands it states that the current Genos can no longer be ordered ... (I posted a link to that webshop in a different thread on this forum)

Tnx @Reya, I know that, I also have contact with my own (reliable) dealer. It seems that, as a nonbeliever, I have to be convinced that I have to believe or I'll be stoned or something.  ;D ;D But that's not my point. It was just about 'fact-checking'. But I'll leave it at that, nothing interesting further.

I just hope Yamaha is a  believer too! ;)

Yamaha are knowers, not believers.  ;)

I am a very strong believer, based on the circumstantial evidence and messages of some members.

After the first teaser or leak, or November 16th at the latest, we all will be knowers, too.  8)

And then it will be time to create a Genos II board on this forum.  :D

Some people here say they have heard from a reliable source that .. + a mysterious code on an Indonesian website.

Eehhh: the source should be Yamaha, right? ;)

That "mysterious code" is "GENOS2" and it appeared on an official Yamaha site in Singapore. As Maarten observed, GENOS2 appeared along with several other Yamaha products which have now been announced.

The site was a reliable source of unannounced product names. "GENOS2" and other product names were scrubbed from the list as soon as people began blabbing about it all over the Web. Some poor soul in IT has been flogged and a reliable source of information has been spoiled into the future.  :'(

Looking back at the dates, the question "to be or not to be" was settled already in August!  :o  :)

Time to move along and raise money  :) -- pj

It appears that there is a firmware update only... v2.1

I don't see a new Genos arranger keyboard on that site.

Hi Joe —

Good to hear from you.

It was a rather obscure method — product names within a drop down list. Yamaha deleted the leaked information within a few days. Leak happened at the end of August, so you won't find anything there today.

Some of those product names are in the list again, following announcement and availability for sale in the region. "GENOS2", no, I just looked.

All the best — pj

If you read the first 6 or so posts in this thread, you'll know what list, etc.

Hi Maarten.
We have to say that the new Yamaha Monitors are a no Brainer compared with the Tinpot transistor radio speakers and boombox for a £100 quid (slang for £) extra.

They should make a smaller and more affordable HS subwoofer too.

I would consider the HS3/4 for my non music computer setup but without a sub it's going to be a bit meh.
Without Music, Life would be a Mistake.

I don't see any specs yet of the H3/4, but I suspect they are too 'light' for the Genos2. If Yamaha is your preference and you want to work without a sub, I think you should consider an H7? A suitable set will probably be offered with the G2 but I guess that set should need a sub. Basically I want a set without a sub, so you will probably end up with a somewhat larger version. But I need to look (and listen!) into that a little more. ;)
My best regards,
Ton

maartenb

Ton,

These are computer desktop monitors, not monitors for a keyboard.

Specifications are here.

Maarten

ton37

tnx. Maarten, I now see in your profile that you have Yam. H7 monitors. Do you use them with your KB with a sub? Or are they for your homestudio and the KB has his own (GN01?)?
I read your posts about this on page 2  ;)
My best regards,
Ton

maartenb

I use the HS7 for my keyboard. They are with me since the Tyros 5 (2013) and sound good. Gosh, ten years I have them already...

I had the 2.1 set of Yamaha with my Tyros 4. I loved their sound and convenience, but when you have sequential keyboard models "keyboard-neutral" monitors are cheaper and sound better.

I'm planning on buying the HS8S sub together with the Genos 2 to fill in the low end without shaking the cupboards or the neighbors complaining.  ;)

Hi Maarten,

I use the Yamaha HS8S subwoofer along with a pair of Yamaha MSP5 studio speakers. (The MSP5 Studio sound very good even without a subwoofer.) I can definitely recommend the HS8S subwoofer.

Best regards,
Chris
● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

Not really part of G2 info, but Yamaha just launched H3 and H4 monitor speakers.
