Yes, @Ugawoga, I appreciate that, but as a well-known music proverb says: it is the tone that makes the music.  ;)

As I have said several times we must be patient. It will be what it will be and we then make our own decisions on if it is for us. It is a shame that forums are so quite and have to resort to lots of long posts mostly going no where. I am surprised that the performers section is not busier as we now have more time to sit and play and share music produced by these lovely keyboards.

Hi Eileen
I am just practicing at the moment as i do not want to wear the print of the numbers.
My forward slash on the start / stop has gone and i have a thin 1 and 2 on the registration numbers. Otherwise immaculate condition.
Hope that will not take a lot of money off of a trade in.

All the Best
John :)

I agree with you @EileenL. I have noticed too that few more experiences, tips and tricks appear. Of course, this forum has become a huge reference work, so there is not much new to report, especially for those who already (seem to) know their keyboard inside and out. So a new top keyboard can bring some life into the brewery. So maybe these signals are the 'calm before the storm'? ;)

When I first joined this forum almost 20 years ago, it was a great source of useful information on how to play and operate these instruments, help with some of the music basics for new players, and a lot of light hearted and amusing banter.
Now there'a lot of nerdy stuff about whether a voice should have 37 velocity layers or 49, or how to seamlessly connect the keyboard it to a Ministry of Defence supercomputer. Or worse ... bickering about who has most insight into Yamaha or Korg business plans.
Maybe arranger keyboards have become more intuitive to play, more common, and there is just less to talk about, new model or not.

Yes Mikf,
I joined way back then also and it was a Yamaha source of information and help to get to know your keyboard.
I think those were the days we were all happy just to sit and play our keyboards and how relaxing it was to.
Now days everyone want's to be a music producer using all this modern technology
that is not part of the keyboard anyway.
I want to see and hear people just sitting and playing there keyboards as this is how you pick up tips and tricks on how to improve all sorts of things. We have so many good things on these keyboards that I suspect many people don't even know they are there.

Please, folks, give it a rest and let's co-exist in peace. Now we're complaining about complaining.  :D

Wish peace to everyone -- pj

I understand a lot of members only want to "sit and play".
But it's currently not the case for all members.
Some of them want to use external DAWs, and are looking for advance settings and programmation with X velocity layers.
People between 20 and 50 are born with computers. A lot of them work with computers more or less directly.

The Genos was presented as a tool for composers, and not as an organ.

I will try to find another forum if moderators finally decide this forum is limited to people that use latest keyboards as they used their 1970 organs/electones, and complain when other members (generally younger) want to discuss about electronic music, AI, DAWs, internals, ... or (even !!) Genos II rumors.

Effectively, it could be a good thing to dedicate new topics for these discussions.

Ehh.., I already suspected something like that with their unwavering interest in screens .. that might explain the generation gap... luckily mine were biologically conceived. ;D ;D ;D

I'm French and my English is not perfect. But I think everybody understand what I mean.

What it really is --

A lot of people today want what a synth has got but also want an instant band for backing.
Shaping sound and all of that with a daw is great.
You have the best of all worlds :)

Also an arranger keyboard is best for people who have started later in life to get an end product
A daw is an extra thing that if you want to go deeper, it is there for all to delve.
If not keep on  plonkin' the arranger keys and "Don't Worry be happy" :) :) ;) :D
It is all about what floats your boat and having fun :)

The current generation of keyboards offer the opportunity to go as deep as you want. Many will enjoy using all those possibilities. Many are not interested in that. Fortunately, you can choose how you want to use the keyboard. It's the same with your cell phone, your TV, your car navigation, the oven, the washing machine, etc. After all, we live in the digital age, right? So don't push it away... be open to it... talk about it... or: keep your ears closed and don't read about it? ;)
