Hi Guys :

I wonder if there are members here who are familiar with GIGLAD software ?

Giglad arranger keyboard software :

This prog should work with any keyboard having midi function.
Apparently it supports VST instruments & Yamaha styles ( SFF2 and SFF3 ( ? ), they say ).
BTW ...  I have NEVER heard of Yamaha SFF3 styles, have you ?

If you are familiar with Giglad, I would be very grateful to hear your comments, impressions etc.
Thank you in advance.
Best wishes, JH

I always wanted to use Yamaha Styles with VST instruments, because they usually sound more real. Is that possible with this software?

Hi Jeff, there are a lot of soft synths on the market. Some of them are integrated in various DAW's.  The basic is that you don't need a real (expensive) arranger. Just a computer with good speakers and a cheap midikeyboard and you're ready to start. Lot of 'nowadays' music is made with softsynths and as result really fantastics compositions.
Fyi and probably you've found this one?:

Have fun with it and when you ready for it, share your thoughts about this one.

Added: Don't count on producing Yamaha Styles easily with this software. That software has yet to be invented (and then only by Yamaha). ;)
My best regards,
Ton

Hi Jeff,

I installed "Giglad" on my PC some time ago, but haven't gotten around to working with the program yet. At the time, I was a little bothered by the fact that you obviously can't load/play Yamaha Styles directly, but first have to import them into the program's library.

Best regards,
Chris
● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)

Thanks, Ton, I will. Promised.
Hopefully this soft will be a good addition to XGWorks and Cakewalk, I hope.
Cross my fingers.  ;)
Best regards, JH

Hey Chris :
This prog cannot work with all Yammi styles, they say.
Apparently some voices need to be replaced by VST's ( if possible  ... I wonder ).

In a couple of weeks I will have some experience, I guess ... I have 45 days to find out. ;D
I will keep you posted if you want.
Time will tell if it is an interesting prog for me to buy. :P

Best wishes, JH

MORE GIGLAD INFORMATION ( for those who might be interested ).

Giglad is an arranger keyboard software for PC and MAC. It allows you to create your own styles(e.g. 8 Beat, 16 Beat, Slow Rock, Waltz, Tango, Samba, etc) which can be used later to either play live using a midi keyboard controller or create songs via a scripting language very fast and easy. The great benefit of giglad when compared with physical keyboard arrangers is that is using virtual instruments to produce audio. As such, the sound gets to be high quality and on top of that the the musicians can make use of the countless plug-ins which can be found over the internet.

Due to licensing reasons, giglad is distributed without any virtual instruments. The user needs to take care of creating his own library of sounds which will be used in his styles. There are awesome virtual instruments on the internet which can be downloaded for free and others which must be purchased. It is up to the user to decide what instruments he will be using. This may sound as a restriction but it also comes with a great advantage: Each user of giglad has a unique sound result.

Giglad is distributed without any build-in styles but provides all the necessary tools for the user to create his own unique styles as easy and fast as possible. Additionally, giglad can read and play Yamaha SFF2 and SFF3 styles.

Giglad supports VST2 and VST3 in Windows and VST3 and Audio Units in MAC plug-ins as well as soundfonts in both Windows and MAC. You need to download a few plug-ins and/or soundfonts to be able to create a decent style.

More information will follow in a couple of weeks.
Best wishes, JH
