AKG 240 MK2 Revisited. (Short Update)

My wife stole these for two months to listen too,  meanwhile I have been using Sennheiser & AudioTechnica which are fine but it's now time for me to get acquainted with AKG again.

AKG are the most comfortable pair of headphones I have ever used.

The EarPads are large over ear type and with the overall light weight and Auto adjusting headband has a lot to offer towards this comfort.

No such thing as headphone sound perfection but the 240 MK2 to my ears contains no obvious part of the frequency range that stands out as not quite right.

Good detailed Bass Mids & Highs. A sense of smoothness but nothing missing.

There are many more expensive headphones that don't approach this level of listening enjoyment at this low price level.

hi Graham,
Among other headphones, I have AKG 242 HD (wich is similar built) and I can only confirm what you say. I think what makes them comfortable, is the headband: absolutely no pressure on skull.
My 242 HD has ear padding made of some synthetic velvet fabric, which feels nice, but it shows it's wear over the years -I think soft leather on 240 Mk2 is better choice (at least visually).

Bogdan. Reply appreciated. My AKG240 MK2 were supplied with two pairs of EarPads. Leatherette & Velour.
We all have different hearing qualities and few people have had the sound experience to be able to decide the correct choice of eqipment.
My AudioTechnica M40X have bloated upper bass, fortunately our keyboards have EQ adjustments to be able to eliminate this.
On my PC I use EqualizerAPO & Peace.

To think in my working years I was getting paid for being involved with sound.
Nice to be paid for something you enjoy doing.
