hi ALL this is my Dear friend here in the UK and it Goes to Show How Fantastic Genos Realy is enjoy   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x679_FqA-yo

Excellent intro to the Genos. Thanks Tyrosman.

It would be nice if there was a camera overhead so people could see the display and buttons. This is a very common oversite with most videos. When I go to my music store to see what's new, I don't sit beside the demonstrator looking at him off to the side. I stare at his motions and the instrument to see how easy or hard it is to do things. In the film business, it's called "point of view." My dad was a cinematographer and director of photography. He taught me well 😀.
"Learn" your music correctly, then "practice" it. Don't practice mistakes because you'll learn them.

Great Lee im Glad you enjoyed it there are more to come :)

It makes you wonder if Yamaha product specialist Paul Thirkettle received a message from Yamaha UK (via Yamaha Japan) to revitalize promotion of the Genos, after hearing all the online talk and rumors from people about a new Genos successor possibly being released in 2023 thereby tamping down those rumors which could mean the Genos 2 won't be released in 2023? Or perhaps Yamaha wants to sell as many Genos as they can before the Genos 2 is released, most likely, in November 2023, at the yearly Yamaha UK Keyboard Club Convention with Yamaha headliners Peter Baartmans and Martin Harris in attendance to showcase the Genos 2? It seems to me the Genos 2 probably won't be revealed at NAMM 2023 in April in Anaheim, CA, even though NAMM is now the largest Music Products & Manufacturers Trade Show in the entire world now that Musikmesse in Frankfurt, Germany has ceased operations.

Btw, the sound quality of the Genos video demonstration provided by Key Sound UK is not the best quality. If you are trying to promote, or in this case, re-promote a product to increase sales, the quality of the sound in the demonstration should be top-notch to give people who listen to the demonstration the very best overview of what the Yamaha Genos sounds like, including the Pianos. 🎹

All the best, Mike

I just received an email from the dealer I bought my Genos from offering free speakers with a Genos for £3999. Makes me wonder if they're starting to shift stock for later in the year?

Hi Willie

Many thanks for the link. I have to admit the first time I looked I only watched less than a minute.  Second time around I watched the whole show - well worth a watch.

I was a timely reminder to go back to basics and start to use the KB in a more professional way by using the variation button and OTS independently (with the OTS Link turned off) and of course the the break button more effectively.  All to often people simply use the variations (linked to the OTS) as a 1-4 progression through the song.

Thanks again

Hi
Yo do not get those piano sounds like that from the satalite speakers.
Also the sounds are not straight off the bat. They have been enhanced.
This is what people want explained.
For a lot of people it is like going into a hi-fi showroom and coming away absolutely amazed and buying straight away only to set it up at home and be disappointed that your brand new hi-fi does not sound the way it did in the shop.
The EQ and compressor have to be set to your listening environment and that is an area that needs explaining to lots of people with the Genos.
The genos is quite a learning curve.
Another area for in depth analyisis would be using the effects sections and explaining how to use them properly.
There are a million things to learn in the Genos.
Genos, I7 computer 32 gig ram, Focusrite 6i6, Cubase controller, Focal Alpha Monitors, Yamaha DXR8 Speakers
Cubase 10, Sonarworks, Izotope.  Sampletank, Arturia and Korg software.  Now IK Mixbox
