Hello all,
I am [very] new to DAW's and having trouble getting my SX to communicate both ways to Bandlab Cakewalk.  I got to believe I don't have a basic setting or preference quite right. I thought what I would do as my first educational project, would be to record MIDI from my SX700 in real time, then use the DAW to make some edits, then play the MIDI back thru my SX. I have downloaded and installed the SX-700 instrument file. I have a decent quality USB cable connected between the PC and keyboard.

I have successfully recorded a MIDI track (playing on the keyboard).  But I am unable to play the MIDI file where it sends the commands back to the SX-700 to play. It plays only on the PC.  In my Cakewalk instrument track I see "Digital Keyboard" as an input option. But I don't see it as an output option.

Any beginners tips would also be welcome.

Thx,
fj

Hi FJ
First install the USB MIDI drivers.

After that, set up Cakewalk and SX.
