Hi All,
Newbie here from Australia. I have just purchased a used Tyros 5 and am still learning all the features. One problem I have encountered is that when i switch from a Piano voice to a sax the keyboard changes down 1 octave. Is this normal or is it a setting the previous owner may have set up. If so how do i get rid of all the previous owners settings.

Thanks in advance,

John

I forgot to mention in my post that i am using Playground Sessions  to learn to play and that is where i am seeing the octave shift.

Are you using registrations or changing voice on the fly.

I can be playing a song using Playground Sessions and using the Concert Grand and every thing works great. If i then select a Tenor Sax  any key i press appears one octave lower.

Lots of voices have an octave adjustment. Yamaha thinks it adds texture to the voice.

Edit the voice to set the octave adjustment to zero. Store it in a registration if you use it often.

Thanks Fred,
How do I edit the voice. I am only a novice.

Took Freds advice and bumped it up by 1 octave and saved to registration.

Great solution. And congratulations with your Tyrso5. That is a very good keyboard!
