so, as I'm just thinking at what time I will purchase the new Yamaha PSR-A5000, and or if someone here purchased it recently, can, or do, you have, or send, all preset stiles included in Yamaha PSR-A5000? Just asking before I buy the keyboard. I'm afrade the price is around 1000 or 1500 dollars or so? I heard in amazon is 800 dollars or so. Thanks and sorry for annoyance.

I think this keyboard is targeted at a specific market, probably hardly known in US or Europe, so I am not too sure how many people will be able to respond.

Toril S

It has styles and sounds targeted at the Asian marked. That probably means the the preset styles will work badly on other keyboards. But it would be interesting to find out!

and PSR-47.

Actually the keyboard is targeted to Middle East, Persian Gulf Countries (UAE, Iran, Iraq etc.) North Africa (Egypt, Algeria etc.), Turkey & Greece. This is an "Oriental" arranger.
Not suitable for the Asian market.

Hi luiscarlos2000,

if you haven't seen these demo videos of the PSR-A5000 yet, here is a link to the YT Channel from Yamaha Global:
>>> https://www.youtube.com/user/yamahacorporation/search?query=PSR-A5000

P.S.
I think the PSR-A5000 Preset Styles won't work particularly well on other / earlier models. The A5000 has, among other things, many new Voices and various new functions. Presumably many of the Oriental Styles use the new Drum/Percussion Kits, which can now contain sounds on up to 128 keys and KEY OFF samples for many sounds and/or with the REVO! drum technology work.

If you have not already done so, please take a look at the "Voice List" and "Drum & SFX Kit List" sections of the PSR-A5000 Data List. (Please use the horizontal SCROLL BAR in this Excel spreadsheet!)

I recently purchased the PSR A5000. I have discovered this forum/website and have been downloading some of the styles on the site and trying them out on the PSR A5000. I have had great success and I am very happy that I ditched Korg (I had a PA900 and then PA4X) and replaced them with a MODX and a PSR A5000 - I think I have plenty of sounds and styles now as opposed to Korg's selection that was limited from model to model with only few changes.

The only issue I have seen with some of the styles I downloaded here is that on some of them the style track icon is dark, I assume the sound/drumkit/... is not present on the A5000. The same goes with some of the OTS settings, they don't work. However, if someone could tell me if there is a way to tell what that track/OTS is looking for so I can at least replace it with something similar that would be great. In the Korg world, is something is missing, it will show the name of the instrument or a drumkit for example and I can at least try to substitute it with something similar.

is there something that helps me here? a utility that tells me what's the original sound or drumkit that was used on a style file?

You can leave the download link here.

I am sure you will make a lot of members happy !

Thank you in advance, JH

Hi jbihnam,

welcome to the PSR Tutorial Forum!

To display the Voices used in the Style Parts, you can use e.g. "MixMaster" (click on "Voices View" or "List View") or "Style Revoicer":
>>> https://psrtutorial.com/MB/EV_Files/mixmaster.html
>>> http://www.jososoft.dk/yamaha/software/revsty/index.htm

Note: Style files can contain data on up to 16 MIDI channels. The data of all 16 source channels are routed to the 8 destination channels (9 - 16) via the so-called CASM part of the style file. Only these channels are displayed directly on the keyboard. In your case, it will probably be sufficient to just look at the Voices of channels 9-16.

I recommend trying different settings for the source keyboard in the programs mentioned. ("GENOS" is always set in my pictures.) I have attached pictures of the programs mentioned and marked important things there in red. :)

Best regards,
Chris

To display the OTS Voices of Style files you can use e.g. "OTS Editor" or "OTS Viewer":

Hope this helps!

Hi jbihnam and congratulation for your new keyboard.

I am new here in the forum and have Korg Pa4X and I would be interested by PSR-A5000 but I need some information details about, for example, importing styles from Pa4X into PSR-A5000 successfully? Tempo Lock? editing the sounds (keyboard set in korg terminology) or Style track volume and save them on the fly, during live performances?

My most important question:
Is it possible to import styles (that includes Drum kits + audio percussion loop) from Korg Pa4X into PSR-A5000 and play them back correctly?

Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks

Toril S

No, unfortunately not. There are many styles converted from Korg to Yamaha here, but that was from older models.

Hi,

I have some questions about the PSR-A5000 and I hope to get some answers before buying.

Q1- Is there a Tempo Lock button for styles?
Q2- Is it possible to edit the sounds (ex; Volume) of the voices and the Styles channels and save them during live performances (on the fly)?

Thanks for any info.
