SciNote

Great version of this song!  Especially like the choir and chimes, and good job on getting the feel of that echoing keyboard sound that, from what I've read, was done on a Yamaha CS-80 -- something that would likely set you back at least $25,000 US -- maybe more -- if you could even find one today!

Past: Yamaha PSR-520, PSR-510, PSR-500, DX-7, D-80 home organ, and a few Casios

Hi Sci-Note
Big thank you for your comments and glad that i saved $25000 dollars.
You could have a fantastic cruise to the sun on that money :)
I have still a little way to go to get the mix 100%
Being critical i would like to put a little more warmth on the song as i thought it was slighty thin and needs only a needs  a few more sprinkles.
I would love to exchange more ideas on mixing as it is a hard job. It is easier to play song.
From what i have been reading is that i could low pass to the high end and add a little more bottom to warm things up.
Then there is the weight of the song that would bring it all up to the real standard.
For me it is taking a long time as i am not trained in this art , but slowly things are coming together.
There is a lot of other things like parallel compression and compression which can add quite a bit to a song, but not too much.
I listen to Paul Mcartney's voice on this song and certain instruments you hear little nuances in there by the person who mastered it that seem to float at the back in the air or come forward  etc.
It is a very clever art what they can do and nigh impossible to match it.
I have got to the point of matching a songs tonal balance and matching the clarity, but when mixed down and coming out of  Sonarworks Sound ID reference even after checking on my monitors it is still not quite the same as the real thing. It always sounds a little thinner or lacks a bit of body, but the clarity is there.
So i am over 50% now learning , but it is getting the little things  that matter right.
Do not get me wrong as i like learning even though i am 70 now and still like to rock.
