The song I'd like to play on my DGX-650 is the Freda Payne hit BAND OF GOLD.
One of my databases says that the right style for it is called 40's swing ballad which i don't have on my hard drive or on any USB drives.
If you have that style around (or any other that would work for that song), please post it for download.  Thanks.

Hi Larry,

"40sSwingBallad" is a Preset Style of e.g. the PSR-SX900.

Please click on the following link to call up the PSR-S970 Style site:
>>> https://psrtutorial.com/sty/yamaha/psr-s970.html

Scroll down to the section "Onacimus' Styles for the PSR-S970/975" > "PSR-S970/S975 ANGKS (825 styles) on that site and download the category "04-Swing&Jazz".

The downloaded zip file "04-SwingJazz-ANGKS2-S970&S975.zip" contains 61 Styles, and the first one (in alphabetical order) is "40sSwingBallad". :)

Best regards,
Chris

Thanks, got it.
I have to change the extension to .sty since that's the only type of style file the DGX-650 can use.
Hopefully it will work.

Larry

Thanks for your feedback, Larry!

Yes, I forgot to mention that the DGX-650 can only load Styles with the .sty extension. But since the DGX-650 is compatible with the current SFF2 (SFF GE) Style format, and also the file size is relatively small (47KB), the Style should be usable for you.

If you want to swap Intros/Endings, Fill ins or Main Variations, because the DGX-650 doesn't have 3 Intros/Endings, 4 Main Variations and 4 Fill ins plus Break (= Fill in BA), you can use the "Style ReMixer" program:

Thanks Chris.

I have that style remixer program on my PC and do use it on occasion.

Hi Larry,

I have just looked into this Style in the "MixMaster" program: Unfortunately, MegaVoices are used in many Style channels. And since there are no MegaVoices available on the DGX-650, it will probably not be enough to just revoice the Style parts. Probably you will also have to remove annoying effect notes (above C6).

As a test, I used the programs "Style Split and Splice" and "MIDI Mega Voice Cleaner" to automatically replace the MegaVoices with XG Voices in that Style. However, this has not produced satisfactory results. I think the easiest way would be to delete the high effect notes manually in MixMaster and then to revoice the relevant Style Parts either directly in MixMaster or in the "Style Revoicer" program. The notes of the original MegaVoice channels would probably also have to be adjusted with regard to the Velocity and the Channel Volumes set accordingly.

Best regards,
Chris

Hello...has anyone created a file for the preset styles from Yamaha PSR-sx900 for download?  To be used with sx700.

Hi ssmaynard29,

please click on the following link, then click on "Show more" to see the full video description. You will find separate download links for each category of the SX900 Preset Styles. :)
>>> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3vy4MbYBDY

Edit:
I just see that the Styles that can be downloaded via the link above do not have the original file extensions, but have all been renamed to * .STY.

Via the following link you can download the SX900 Preset Styles with the original file extensions (.PRS, .SST etc.). Note: The password required to unzip the zip file can also be found on the download page:
>>> yamaha-psr-sx900-factory-preset-styles

Best regards,
