Hi, excuse me, I am interested in the CVP 809 but I can't go to the store now. Can someone share me some audios please? Maybe the factory demos or some style demos please, thank you in advance!

Dear Rodrigo,

here some interesting Video about CVP 809, that I hope you will enjoy:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htnVYNRvh4w

I own a Clavinova CVP309 in Polish Ebony, in mint conditions (I just had Yamaha Assistance at my home to replace all keys contacts), and I had the idea of getting CVP809.
After many months of thinking, testing and deepening, I finally decided to keep my old (but still beautiful) CVP309PE, and purchased a new Genos (as you may know, CVP809 has Genos sounds and operative system). I'm very happy of my choice (not to mention that this way I saved more than 4000 Euros!).

Ciao

Angelo

Thank you very much and sorry for the late reply. I don't like the quality of the YouTube's audio. So I'll be very greatful if someone can send me good quality audio files.

I don't know how much you would learn from a video or audio sample about the sound quality.  The videos can only show features but not really sound quality. How it is recorded, how you play it back affect that too much. The CVP809 is an excellent instrument, sounds great through its own speakers,  most (but not all)  the features of a Genos, but has some features Genos does not have, and a very good keyboard. Given the very high price, I would think you should NOT buy one without hearing it first hand and playing it first though.
Just a comment on the previous post re combining CVP and Genos. Although these keyboards have a lot of overlap in features, for me the big difference is that Genos is a gigging, or studio type instrument while the CVP is for people who don't want to have wires everywhere and connect up to computers, pedals, speakers etc etc. It's a drawing room instrument. Having to connect to Genos kinda defeats the purpose.

I would suggest that there is not much wrong with the sound quality of the U-tube videos presented earlier.
I think it is the quality of the sound system on the average computer that is at fault.

My desktop PC is years old, but the sound output is via a Cambridge-Soundworks amp/speaker system specifically designed for the purpose.
It is described as a PCWorks 4 Point Surround and consists of an amp/bass reflex speaker  and 4 satellite speakers (although I'm not using the rear speakers) and the sound quality is very much akin to a normal small hi-fi system.

He's right; the audio from the 1st and 3rd youtube links sounds like they just used the camera's default mono mic; the 2nd one (Sweetwater) sounds like they took the line out direct from the piano to record into the video, which is much higher audio quality.

Here's my only demo on the 809 so far (I used the direct audio recording onto the USB stick, then just slapped the audio back into the cell phone camera footage to replace the tinny mono mic recording

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20au5e8SxNQ

I have a couple of other demos I'm working on for CVP809, but neither features piano; one is orchestral and the other is synth strings and organs

However, the CVP809 is the same chip as the Genos (minus the ability to load samples) so if you're listening through youTube, then Genos demos will be the same thing. My channel has a ton of Genos videos.

Mark,

what a performance! Not only for your high technical talent; but also for the deep EXPRESSION you play such a complex piece.

Much to learn.....
