Playing subsets of parts on the fly

Hi

Many of the styles sound great when I play various subsets of the parts in a particular variation so that not all the parts are playing at once.

I would like to switch between different subsets of parts on the fly:
Here are some examples:
• Subset 1 = All Parts playing
• Subset 2 = Rhythm 1 & 2 and Bass parts only
• Subset 3 = Rhythm 1 & 2, Bass, Chord1, Phrase1 parts only
• Subset 4 = Rhythm 1 & 2, Bass, Chord2, Phrase2 parts only
• Subset 5 = Rhythm 1 & 2, Bass, Pad, Phrase1 parts only
• Subset 5 = Rhythm 1 & 2, Bass, Pad, Phrase1, Phrase2 parts only
etc

I tried storing the volume sliders in a registration setting but it did not work.
I tried muting parts in the mixer in a registration setting and that did not work either.

I was hoping that registration settings would allow me to store mute-part or volume slider-part settings because that would allow me to store 10 variations of subsets of tracks to play with, but I can't seem to get it to work. Ultimately I would like to be able to have a way to apply the above subsets of parts to any style.

What would be the best way to switch between these various subsets of parts on the fly?

Thank You

Registrations will do what you want. You just have to:

1. Set the values the way you want
2. Press the Memory button
3. Ensure the Style box is checked
4. Press the desired registration button

Also, you have to ensure Freeze is off (or, at least, you're not freezing the Style).

Cheers,
