I have this keyboard and after the tyros5 I find this sx 700 very interesting and great in everything.

Hello Babette,

I had PSR-S775 before (pretty much the same as S770), so I can only compare my new SX700 to it. Now, sound quality and features on S775 was more than good enough for my needs. However, I just couldn't stand those flimsy rubber buttons on whole panel -especially those around screen... they just wasn't reliable when pressed.
Now, even SX700 finally has touch screen (which improves "work" tremendously!), buttons on whole panel are also MUCH better. Maybe it's just my imagination, but actually whole keyboard feels of more higher quality. Sound from built-in speakers seems to be a bit better too (at least to me). And finally the design.. yes, I think SX just looks better  :)
To keep it short: because of touch screen, everything changes to better!

Hi i also have psr sx700 and i am happy ..... the reason is clear. Yamaha has made progress in the keyboard, and this is a big step forward with the touch screen and the ability to select 3 tools in my right hand. There are enough sounds because I have a Roland bk7m sound bank. Also, I don't need a Yamaha Vocalist because I use the Helicon voice live touch + helicon 76 microphone with vocal switching buttons. And of course I play through Cakewalk9, so midi files and live on sx700. I just regret that I can't get the sx700 file sx700.ins, for the cakewalk .... I have a plea for everyone if you know about this file give me a message. Well thank you..

Interesting post Sardonyx. I have just bought a 700, for about the same reason. I find the Yamaha Vocal Harmony pales compared to that of the Korg's versions. For the price difference, I managed to buy the TC Helicon device along with the 700  and STILL saved $300 over the 900. I Use a Korg PA 600 as the lower of my 2 keyboard setup along with a PSR 970 (which will be a home keyboard from now on ) along with a Digitech Voice 5, which will be retired! I am essentially a live performer, (vocals and keys)  and the Yamahas are way better in finding song files in a live situation. The keybed feels better on the 700 and the build seems better. I travel the world with my keys (I work the Asian market and also Spain), and the 970 hasn't stood up to travel as my old PSR 3000s, with cracks appearing on the casing and a couple of keys are becoming 'iffy'. .
I reckon I'll retire in 3 years time, and (hopefully) this will be the last keyboard I will need.

I'm happy with the SX700, but the display doesn't work as well as with the Korg Pa4X and Pa1000. The SX700 sounds similar to the S775. It is only the SX900 that sounds closer to Genos.
Obecnie Yamaha Genos. Wcześniej były:

The SX700 is a nice keyboard.
A great sound and a perfect touch screen.
I like it very much.
