A good way of demonstrating the use of the 3º right hand voice on SX-900. I found it very practical to certain songs.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Ivs4xq4z6Q

Yes Telmo,
The three way split is very good for this sort of thing. Don't think many people use it though.

Only for 6,5 octaafs keyboards
On 5 octaafs keyboards you can make a midi pad of the solo
You did use it very well

I have the S950 keyboard and wish at times I had the 3rd voice in the right hand. When doing my instrumental lead breaks, I like to at times, start with a guitar solo and half way through hand off to the Pedal Steel or Fiddle voice. My solution has been to simply set up 2 of the style's Mains (like Main C & D) to be exactly the same and then DELETE the "Fill In" of Main D. You get a perfect transition then going from one voice to the next.  ;)

I have seen a guy on YouTube playing "dueling banjos" on the keyboard BUT he was playing with a MIDI file to pull it off. So, he was only playing one part.  If I had the 3rd voice in my right hand, I am pretty sure I could do the song live using just a Style.

Hi Telmo, thank you for demoing how you used a splitted keyboard. Above that, the song sounds very well and very well played. Thanks for sharing!
My best regards,

When you play a keyboard you always play one part
The rest is play by the keyboard
When you play in a band you also play one part and still be a goed music player
A keyboard is for amateurs pro's don't use them
I did once detect the use of a keyboard on te Eurovisie songfestival
When the intro started i did heard the style and the keyboard used
Try to play a jazz song with 4 extendet slash chord in one measure on an arranger

Nice playing and great sounds Telmo :)
For those who don't have a 3rd voice or a 2nd keyboard, those specific 4 notes can be added in one style parts of one Main and sometimes you can play them too with your right hand voice.
You also keep a Main(or a reg) without those notes so they won't play in all the bars of the song.

Really useful indeed that 2nd split for keeping your fingers busy :)

So glad it is on the SX900. Very nice play and arrangement Telmo.

1) A keyboard is for amateurs pro's don't use them

2) Try to play a jazz song with 4 extendet slash chord in one measure on an arranger

1) That made me really laugh!  ;D  I'll have to remember to tell my fellow pros who DO use arranger keyboards in concert that they're playing the wrong instrument!

2) Where's the problem in doing that? I can do it and I have students who do that sort of thing. Takes AI mode, a good understanding of its algorithms and how they work - and lots of practice!
It's not what you play, it's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

Yes that is for study
I know a pianist
He chanced to keyboard after a few monts he could't play the piano anymore

Telmo, congratulations on the presentation!
But I noticed that you needed to glue papers to the SX900's controls.
Is it really too bad to see the buttons? Especially at night?

Can this be done on the S975 too? Great cover Telmo! I would have to practice a lot to do this!😀

Yes Andy - or maybe listen to the you tube demos by Peter Baartman on Genos and CVPs.
Top keyboard players are not using these instruments to play simple lh chords and single note melodies. They get great music from them.

Very nice, and thanks for the tip on the third split. I sing, so I would just do the lower guitar part. I'd like to cover that song. What style did you use, Telmo?

Hello Enildo, sometimes I play at some places where the the lights are very low. So, as I wear glasses, I had this idea to glue some papers under the controls for easy operation. For me personally, it's much better to see all the controls. Best regards.

You can see the style used but it is not an on board one as you see it has an old Icon. Try 60's Vintage Rhumba and slow it down a little.

I mostly listened and didn't watch the first time. IMO, 60sVintageRumba, BoleroLento, CubanBolero don't cut it. Telmo's style is perfect for that song.

OK, so I went to the split menu in the SX900, and I can't find anything about a third split. Telmo, how did you do this?

Again, really nice video. It's a pretty simple song, but I like that you did it flawlessly and chose great instrument voices for your RH - except maybe playing the melody with a synth sound was just a little cheesy, IMO. The quality of the video production was top notch too.

Hi Telmo, thanks for the answer you gave me on your youtube channel, you are always a source of inspiration.  rummaging in a trunk I Found two pedals that I used with an old Korg Wavestation EX. Are a PS-25 and a PS 15 .. (I think they are both useful for sustain) What models do you use?

Janus

you can use all sustain pedals
only with the right plug,  a mono guitar plug
you have only to change polaritie when it is wrong

Aquilauno

thanks Janus for your clarification...
Yes, both have mono attack as you said, so no problem using sustain, but for example for changing variations  I can use the other PS- (15 or 25)?...

EileenL

For three way split just go to Split/fingering in menu. Set Right 3 to where you want that voice to start. Select the voice you want and adjust volume. Now save to registration bank. That's it.

Hi Toryl,
I don't think this is possible on 975 because you have not got that extra voice right three.

I get it. Thanks, Eileen. So the R3 is by default where the Left and Style split leaves off, but you can set it higher to make space for the second split below.

EileenL

As you will see from the registration R1&2 play on the main part of the keyboard after the style split and R3 will play on the top end of the keyboard from which ever note you choose it to start.
