Hi,
Anybody have & use both a Genos 1 or 2 and the SX920?
I was thinking of using the 920 as a backup or for smaller gigs; especially since it has built-in speakers.
I once had the psr9oo but it did satisfy me in comparison to the sounds from the Genos.

Hello Skip! Good idea to have a PSR for small gigs, I do the same. But keep in mind that the smaller keyboard does not have all the sounds/effects of the flagship, so you will have to adapt your styles. I find that it is best to have separate folders of styles for the different keyboards, i. e. Genos gig disk, PSR-975 gig disk (gig folder). The same goes for registrations. I don't use them, I just adapt the styles, but registrations can contain much more data, so most people use them. It is a little extra work to set up both keyboards to your liking, but it is very convenient to have a smaller one out on gigs.

Genos, Tyros 5, PSR S975, PSR 2100
and PSR-47.
Former keyboards: PSR-S970.

The SX920 is now based on Genos 1 with a lot of its features and the sound is much improved.

I have not heard a SX920, but I have a SX900 and a Genos 1.
There is a huge difference in sound (voices) quality between both.
It is possible that the SX920 is a huge step forward in pure sound quality compared to a SX900, but it would surprise me.
If it were me, I would definitely considering buying a second hand Genos 1 in stead of a new SX920 as a backup device, especially given the relative small price difference between the two.
