Hello
This is my very first post onto this Forum so I Hope that I am not repeating anything.  I presently own the Yamaha CVP 705 which I love very much. However now I am looking for something more portable like a PSR keyboard.
I am wondering if someone can tell me if it is worth paying the extra money for the PSR 975 or am I going to be just as happy with the PSR 775.
Does anyone know what the main differences would be?  I appreciate any advice you can give me.  Thanks

DonM

Welcome!  There are indeed some posts stating the differences, but I think the primary difference is in the vocal processor/harmonizer.  I would say if you sing, get the s975 for sure.
There are other differences, including the price!

There's a heck of a difference, in price but also in spec.

Most important example for me: S775 has 76 S.Art voices, but the S975 has 140 of them. Same sort of thing in all the other 'higher quality' voices (as opposed to what Yamaha call 'regular' voices.) you get more Cool, Live and Sweet voices, plus 10 more Organ Flutes. The total voice count on the 975 is 1090 compared to 930 on the 775.

Same with the styles: 523 vs 433.

For most players, styles and sounds are the prime factors when choosing a keyboard. Everything else might be a big bonus for some but an unwanted feature for others.

It's not what you play, it's not how you play. It's the fact that you're playing that counts.

Whether you choose the s775 (would be my choice), or the s975, with the new SX700 and SX900 coming out, the s775 and s975 price will drop in the next weeks, so it is worth postponing your purchase a little bit !
