I use the application PSR STyle Database v4.7 for sorting my styles.
I use the colum 'Variations'.

I get following examples of data :

4M 4I 4E 5F 0B
4M 2I 2E 4F 0B
2M 1I 1E 1F 0B
...

Does anybody know how to interpret these data ?

These characters refer to the number of each style section in the style.

M    Main Variations
I      Intros
E     Endings
F     Fill Ins
B     Breaks.

So the style in your first example has 4 Main Variations, 4 Intros, 4 Endings, 5 Fills and 0 Breaks.

Thanks Tyrosaurus.

That is exactly the information I was looking for.

I see that all my styles are in status 0B, meaning no break available for these styles. But when I load the styles in the Genos, thre IS a break for the styles.
Is there any issue with this feature ?

Hi Luluc,

on control panel of Genos, Tyros and PSR-S models you can select (only) the following Style sections :

• 3 Intros (I, II, III)
• 3 Endings (I, II, III)
• 4 Main Variations (A, B, C, D)
• 4 Fill-ins (inside of a Style file called "Fill-ins AA. BB, CC, DD")
• 1 "Break Fill" (inside of a Style file called "Fill-in BA")

This means, the "Break" button on the control panel actually triggers the Fill-in BA. And this is the reason that in "PSR Style Database" for "normal" Styles is displayed "5F 0B". :)

A Style file can also contain a 4th Intro, a 4th Ending and an additional "Break", but these "hidden" Style sections can NOT be accessed directly from the control panel (but only via MIDI).

Jørgen Sørensen has written a Windows program to work with the "hidden" sections "Intro 4" and "Ending 4" (by simulating the "missing buttons").

Hope this helps!

● Everyone kept saying "That won't work!" - Then someone came along who didn't know that, and - just did it.
● Never put the Manual too far away: There's more in it than you think! ;-)
