Hi,

Just a quick question. :)

I have a midi file which informs me that the tempo is 188 but the midi plays much slower at around 70BPM which is correct for the song.

Why does it show 188 and not 70?

The song is Roy Orbison Walk On.

Thanks,

Martin

Hi Martin,
I think it is because the sheet music is written in a 6/8 tempo but the midi file is made by using a 3/4 tempo.
Different kinds of rhythm are measured differently I guess.
Same thing may happen with a style.
You may need to double the speed of a style's tempo(or reduce) to match up with a song.

Hi Panos,

Thanks very much for the reply. :)

That must be it.

It is a bit unhelpful as the counter on the Tyros 4 is going away at 188BPM when the song is playing much slower so I can't use that as a guide to keep in time with the music... :'(

I have enough trouble keeping time as it is. ::)
