While recently in my local music store checking out the S-975, we talked about many things including something I'd not thought of before.

My rep said that he used to hook up a second foot pedal and assign it to control the GLIDE feature.  He demonstrated it for me. Sax, Pedal Guitar, etc. can be played expressively, hands-free.

I tried it at home with my S-910, and it works.

When I was experimenting with pedal/glide assignment, I noticed that it's not a global (over all) setting, but can be assigned and saved for different voices within the same song--if you needed to (like guitar and sax individually).  This way the pedal could also be used differently for other voices (like sustain for piano). All within the same song.
