I recently joined the Yamaha keyboard family with the purchase of Genos.   I have been a long time Korg guy.  Nothing against Korg but simply fell in love with Genos' voices and styles.    Am currently going through the typical learning curve of a new owner attempting to translate the operation of my Korg PA4X arranger to the Genos.   Most of the concepts are transferrable except the "registrations" function (still trying to wrap my head around that).   Of course have been reaching out to the Owners manual, Reference manual, YouTube, and user sites, then found this great Forum!  Digging into the Forum now.

Welcome aboard Tony.  Interesting that you came from Korg to Yamaha.  I'm sure you're going to be more than happy with your Geno's.  As far as learning the functions etc you have almost found the best source of info on you keyboard.  It's not the forum, although the forum is great its the main site at PSRtutorial.com.  There you will find a lesson section filled with instructions on every aspect of your genos in language you can understand writen by other users.

BTW, we are a friendly group of folks here and love to chat with each other all the time.  So, how about some personnel info, like where you're from.

Wellcome to the forum Tony and have fun with your new keyboard  :)
Don't worry much about how registrations work just keep in mind that when you call up a registration and you allready have tell that registration to do several things you must make sure those things are still there for the registration to find them.
e.g If you have a style or a multipad assigned on a registration if you decide to move them to a new folder, remember to re-edit the registration again so it can find them.

Here are some lessons about registration from Joe,Fred and others.
