Hello :) I just spotted a Tyros 4 special edition that someone is selling near where I live. I have an S970. Will this T4 stand up to the S970? If it has more bells and whistles, I may consider it a stationary instrument. Not for gigs! The price is a little high also.
What do you think??

I would stick with the S970.

T4 may have some additional features, but the S970 also has some things that even T5 doesn't (live control, store DSP setup directly in registrations). S970 also has YEM for expansion management.

Hi Toril

The T4 special edition is selling for around £2000 ( 22,000 NOK ) in UK dealers including MS04 speakers.
The keyboard is fitted with FL 1024 expansion  memory as standard and should include Vintage Keyboard expansion pack.
It looks very nice in black.

I cant say if it is better than a PSR 970 or not because I have never owned either, but there are plenty of Youtube vids ofthe T4 and it sounds very nice.

Good luck whatever you choose to do,perhaps someone else will be able to help more.

Regards

Alan

Hi Toril.

If you're happy with what you already have, just be patient.
The "Special Edition" of T4 is not much more than the "ordinary" T4. 10 Years celebration model, black, limited numbered items produced.

Just wait and see, because all that sudden you will come across a T5 to a reasonable good price...... it's just a matter of time.
Just take a look at Finn, now when Yamaha lowered the Genos prices, more T4 and 5 shows up. I'm pretty sure that pricelevel will lower more during the spring.

(But, myself I got a fair deal swap my T4 for a Genos. That one ment for me is probably still in China, or still at the ocean on the way to Europe.
I was about to add a PA4X-76, and keep T4, but now Korg have to wait. Maybe they have a new model on the way in the near future. Who knows?)

Thanks Derek, Alan and Gunnar Jonny😀 Decided to wait 😀

I think that is a good decision, and if the item you refer to is the same as I can see at Finn and adressed near by you, it's far too high priced.
The sky is the limit some say, but not for 2nd hand (or new) arranger keyboard. Personal value is not the same as market price, something not all who want to sell seem to understand.

Btw,
I've been listening at a couple of your uploaded songs, and it sound good. Keep on the good work. :)

Toril S

Thank you, Gunnar Jonny. The price was too high, and if I ever go for a big brother of the S970, it wil be T5 or Genos.
Thank you for listening to my songs, and for your kind words :)
