I'm working on Sleigh Ride and want to put the whip slap into the song.
Can that be done?

Not sure if there is anything already on the S975 or not...

If you want it as a Multipad, here is one I developed for the song a long time ago. (#1 pad is the "whip")
It is based on what a community concert band drummer would do to imitate the whip (I was in one for over 30 years).

You can load it into the Multipad user area on your keyboard and try it.

If you want the whip as a voice, maybe someone else can help you with that...
Have fun!

Bruce,
Thanks.
Where do I go to find instructions on to load it into the multipad user area?

If you would like to download my multipad, then copy it from the computer to a USB stick, then insert that USB stick into your keyboard.
Then go to the Multipad area of your keyboard.
You should see the keyboard's preset Multipads which you can choose from.
At the top of the page you should also see a tab that can take you to your user files and there also should be a tab for the USB files (if the USB stick is attached).
Select the USB tab, which will take you to your USB stick.
Find the SLEIGHRIDE file.
You can play it (try it) from there. (Select it and try it)
If you like what you hear and want to put it on your keyboard, then copy it and paste it into the User section for future use.

Your keyboard's manual should also have these instructions in it...

Also, to get more responses to your request, you should post your inquiry for the "Whip" Multipad under the heading "Multipad and Audio Link" under "Features, Options, Techniques of Yamaha Keyboards" on this Forum.
If it is a "Whip" voice you want then put your request under the heading "Voices - Global Questions" in the same area, "Features, Options, Techniques of Yamaha Keyboards".

Bruce,
I think the pad you provided; it is a MIDI pad - correct?
If yes, how did you convert the whip sound to MIDI, assuming the whip was originally audio (wav?)?
I found a whip sound, more like was used by the Boston Pops, however, it's an audio file.  Converting it to MIDI creates an awful sound.
I can use the one you provided, thanks, just trying to get closer to what I hear on the radio (is that still a thing?).
Thanks,
Rick

I created my Multipad on my keyboard, so it is just whatever my keyboard created - which I think is midi.

So, the question to ask may be:
Can I blend audio and midi on the same Multipad?
I'm not sure of the answer but hopefully someone here can.
