Notre Dame. How did they get the sample?

I have been given a  lovely voice called Notre Dame. I know nothing about how voices are made. Maybe, a sound engineer went to Paris , and sat in the cathedral and  made a recording whilst the pipe organ was playing. Maybe, what I just wrote is silly. Hoping someone will tell me in layman's terms what really happens.

It could be anything .... maybe it is the sampled real Norte Dame organ, maybe it is a sampled organ then tweaked to sound something like the Notre Dame organ, maybe it's a synthesized set of sounds given a grandiose name ......it's all possible. Impossible to know without additional information.
If you like the voice, does it matter?
