To mark a voice as a favorite you just press and hold the voice name on the LCD for a second, and now it is favorited.

The same method does not work for styles.

You have to use the menus at the top of the display, involving a couple of extra tedious steps.

Anybody understand the logic for this, or am I missing something?

thx

In my style collection, I have taken the time to place a $ mark or a $$ mark beside the style name as I acquired them to remind me at a glance that the style is worthy of a first look (because of its attractive features) during a style search for a project.

Interesting, how does this work for preset styles, or not?  you need to save a copy of the style just to edit the name...

this could be done with the favorite feature otherwise, only favorited styles show up in the favorite category page!

I add the favored preset style(s) to my collection along with the notation(s) I mentioned.

To save an on board style to favourites Just press the style name for a couple of seconds
and you see a yellow line appear to the left of the style name. It is now in favourites.
I have put quite a few in mine so I can find them quickly.

thanks eileen that is how i hope and expect it to work, for some reason mine refuses to favorite a style when I hold it down. will try again later and report back.

Much better just to make a folder, put your favorites into it and name the folder favorites or somethng else that is easy to remember. Then the styles will arrange themselves in alphabetical order, and the folder can be exported to whatever storing device you use.

I am also boggled a bit by the Favorites functions as I started to trying to arrange my favorite styles (Hard to remember which ones is your goto styles for a Bossa or 8Beat when you have 800+ styles with in some cases very fancy naming schemes). it only seem to work on internal styles and NOT on User styles which is a real shame. However holding down the name on the touch screen DO work with Styles on the G2 can't remember if it did on the Genos as I just recently found the trick of holding down the tittle a while to select it. It kinda defeats the purpose of the function of "Favorites" when it only works on internal styles and not on expansion packs. Added to the wishlist of Genos 2 2.0 update  ::)

I'd like to hear what people do when saving your user edits of Styles and sounds. Do you save them in the User area (15GB) or on USB. I am pleasant surpriced as Yamaha don't seem to have problems with large USB sticks, where my Kronos kindly refuses to work with anything bigger than 32gb .. it will use a 64gb but only if you format it IN the Kronos which means 32gb or you manually format in Windows to only use a 32gb partition. I am freaky about organisation of stuff in folders so its easy to know where stuff is.
