Just a simple question to any expert.

Today I received my Genos2, and I want to transfer all my Genos1 data to the new keyboard. - Yamaha has a video showing the proces, but my doubt is if it is also necessary to copy the "EXPANSION" folder, wich contains the Genos1 installed packs.

I want to install the new converted Genos2 expansion packs, and I don't know if this will be a redundant data, since the old packs will ocupe a lot of the limited memory of the Genos2.

Many thanks in advance for any help.

Hi,

What i know is that the old expansion packs from the genos 1 are not compatible with the genos 2. Bit by bit they are converted by yamaha and given free to download. Most packs are already converted but not al at the same place. There is a method to transfer data between the 2 keyboards via midi but i dont know how
own: wersi abacus duo pro deluxe
        Genos 2

owned: Tyros 1, psr 9000, yamaha hs8 with cvs10 and mdr3, hamond aurora classic, yamaha c55n, omegan 1200

Yiou can't (and should not try to) copy the expansion voice data over. You have to create a new installation pack in YEM, with the G2 versions of the data and your new G2 instrument file, then install it.

Genos1 packs will not work on Genos2 They have now been converted to PPF files and now work. Make sure your keyboard and YEM are updated to the latest versions
Import your ID No from your Genos2 into YEM. You will need to remove your Genos1 content and Load in the new Packs.
