Distorted Microphone input when using built-in recorder

On previous keyboards, including Genos 1, Tyros, etc., I have used the built-in recorder to record some songs I have played.

I did the same on the Genos 2 last night and the input from the microphone was either too low or distorted.

The red mic clipping LED was not lit, and the input level for the whole recording seemed too high. I tried more than one microphone, so ruled out the microphone.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Is there a setting somewhere that determines the audio level sent to the built-in recorder?

The problem was caused in the master equalisation settings. Recording works best when set to "flat".

Keith, I am glad you resolved your issue. But I just had another thought.

I found that I when I did an Audio Quick Recording, I needed to adjust the "Rec - Monitor" level from 90 to about 50-60, BEFORE I did the recording. Once that you have completed your recording, it is too late. Then, my distortion disappeared.

Unfortunately, you cannot change the default of 90. This must be done each time that you feel your level might be too high and become distorted.

The other adjustment "Rec - Play" can be adjusted anytime, to raise or lower the volume while playing.
