Keyboard Master

Hi everyone I have a style that I want to edit where during the intro the phrase 2 channel will switch between two voices for example Megavoice popHorns 1 and super art! Jazz scat vocals. I was curious if I can do this with mixmaster. By inserting the voice data at the correct time signature. I'm also curious if I recorded it by switching manually as a midi file then using the new midi to style software. Any advice I'd appreciate. ;D

-I like this part  :)

I'm pretty sure this can be done in MixMaster, but... I would use this approach only if both following conditions are met:
1. I have no free channel for additional voice (all eight are occupied) -which is rarely the case
2. I'm sure that there will be no collision at switching two voices (famous SSS issue)
-keep in mind, that you might edit intro in future and then it can happen that you'll be confronted with SSS.
In short: if possible, I would use separate channel for each of these two voices.

My 2c worth advice  ;)

I have read and seen on a Youtube channel on style creation you can use a rhythm channel for melody etc as a trick for extra channel. Try that.

on the style I'm using all eight 8️⃣ channels are used. So I implemented the voice data and  once I tested it i didn't hear the second voice. When I was using mixmaster I set first on both probably the second voice needs to be set last. Then the first to switch it back at the correct time. Pop horns 1 msb 8 lsb 1 program 57 and jazz scat vocals is msb 8 lsb42 and prog 56. I even switched between them manually while recording as a midi. Once loaded in mixmaster the jazz scat vocals showed up as msb 8 lsb 42 and the program was 55 instead of 56. I'm curious what's going on behind the scenes.

There's a confusing thing with PCn values... In Yamaha's DataLists, PCn values start with 1, but keyboard uses PCn values starting with 0. That is, if needed voice has PCn value 56 in DataList, then value 55 should be used instead.

I appreciate the feedback. I did use mixmaster and did what I needed to do. Here is a folder containing the original style and the reworked version. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-0Suz69WQrRh48DC38_oRkoATf5sSahO
