I own a Genos 1. Just got a G2.
Unplugged my sustain pedal from G1 - to G2.
Pedal is acting "opposite" of expected.

Updated firmware to 1.02

I can't really audition the G2 in current state...

Advice?

Thanks

Do you have a switch anywhere at the bottom of your pedal? I had to reverse the switch in mine. I'm no expert, but hope that helps.

There is an option in the menu settings to change pedal from - to  + , I saw earlier when looking for something else

Tommarr

I have searched for a polarity +/- option.
Any idea of where it is located?
Thanks!

Press Direct Access, then press Pedal. Should now be on the Assignable screen, top right select Menu.

Genos2, Montage M6, Maschine Micro NI, Cubase 13, Komplete 14 Ultimate, Arturia Analog Lab, HALion7, Groove Agent 5, HS8 Speakers.

Well...your answer on how to locate the polarity options was clear and appreciated.

I tried each of the Pedal options with no favorable results.

Here's the experience:

1) play keys, no sustain - normal

2) hold pedal, play keys - sustain - normal

3) release pedal, any notes played sustain.

4) hold down pedal, notes act as 1) above.

Tried holding down sustain pedal when starting Genos 2. No effect.

Tried 2 other sustain pedals - same outcome.
Plugged pedal back into my Genos 1 - all works fine.

I am at a loss.

Did you look for a switch on or around the bottom of your pedal? I tried to use on Genos 2 a pedal I had used before, and it didn't work till I found the switch. Just asking if you tried?

Thank you very much for pushing me!

I previously tried the toggle on bottom of sustain pedal, and it did not solve the issue. So at your prompting I tried again.

As it happens with technology, sometimes things just start to work.

And, now I learned more about Direct Access and reaching some 'new' screens.

I got the G2 yesterday. This was killing me to not be able to play.

Thanks to you and supersteve.

Gotta go!!!!

Hi Tommarr,

Please note that the jacks on the rear panel of the Genos2 are arranged differently than on the Genos(1). Connect the Sustain pedal to pedal jack #1 (SUSTAIN) with the keyboard switched off and make sure NOT to press the pedal when switching on. Normally, when the keyboard is switched on, the polarity of the pedal is automatically determined and set correctly.

If the pedal still works "in the opposite way", please press the "Direct Access" button and then press the pedal. This opens the Assignable display. Make sure Pedal #1 "Sustain" is selected there. Now, as mentioned by Christopher before, touch the Menu icon. There you can change the polarity to get the pedal working correctly.

By the way, note that the pedal settings can be changed by Registrations in which different pedal settings are memorized. I recommend creating at least one Setup Registration that contains your preferred pedal settings. If the settings are accidentally changed, you can load this Setup Registration to quickly reset the pedal settings.

Best regards,
Chris

Thanks Chris.
I had a support newbie  tell me TO depress the pedal when starting Genos.

It took sometime, and great responses from people here!
