So, Father Time hit me in the ears, and it was my turn to try out hearing aids. The topic keyboard playing and hearing aids has been up several times, and people have had both negative and positive experiences. This is my first day trying them out, and the first thing I did when I got home was to fire up my keyboard. WOW!! All the clarity is back, and I can turn down the volume! I am very releaved, I expected a lot of trouble, but was positively surprised!

Initially I had a bad experience with hearing aids - I would get a horrible sort of chorus effect especially with Harmonica voice.  The best way I can describe it is like an untuneful vibrato effect!

The cure however was found when I went back to the audiologist for my checkup and she found that one of the aids had not been programmed correctly and after reprogramming it was perfect!

So if anyone is having difficulty with digital aids I would suggest they get the programming checked.

I've been using Widex brand hearing aids for the last 15-20 years.  One of the programs available to me is called "Music".  Whenever I play my DGX-650 or process my recordings using Audacity software I switch to that program which somehow enhances the sound and gives music more depth than it would have in the Universal program that I use otherwise.

Next week I will be testing out the Widex Evoke series hearing aids.  If they outperform my current ones I will get a set of those.

Such a program is available for mine as well. And I believe they have to be turned down a bit, I heard more gossip at the grovery store today than ever before😀😀😀

I recently purchased a pair of Bose Hearing Aids, which are absolutely incredible, and I can control them with my smart phone using the Bose app.

The only downside is that my wife sneezes very loudly and the sound nearly blows my head off.

All the best,

Bose no longer makes hearing aids and partnered up with Lexie, to make hearing aids.  https://lexiehearing.com/us/lexie-b2-powered-by-bose-hearing-aids Bose, however, will still maintain it's customer service for Bose hearing aids.
