I use T4 as a drum machine. Playing my own acmp and bass. MIDI songs are my latest interest. If anyone wishes to share knowledge on MIDI songs let me know.

It would have been so fun to know that! I have one, so it must have been at least one :)

How many Tyros have been sold ?

You'll only get guesses. The number is closely guarded by Yamaha.

Well there are around 3,850 members in this forum  if we guessed that say half the members had purchased a Tyros at some point that would be 1,920 Tyros keyboards sold just to this group of musicians, I can't see why you really would want to know how many Yamaha have sold, how will it change your life knowing? will it persuade you to buy another Yamaha keyboard or would you jump to another manufacture? Curiosity killed the cat.

And curiosity keeps humans alive😀

As said it's useless and inaccurate information, but just as a fun exercise😎........
When I think of the size of the resource to design, market etc a Tyros, it's hard to imagine a corporation the size of Yamaha would bother unless total sales for each TOTL model were in several millions of dollars. So if we say $5m net total revenue per model, and there were five models, that is $25m in Tyros sales. At today's value after dealer mark up shipping and other costs,  Yamaha maybe nets about $3000 revenue per unit at today's value. So that $25m would be over 8000 units.
Probably total rubbish, but maybe as good a guess as anyone 🥸🥸🥸

You asked a question, we take that at face value and assume you would like an answer. Beyond that what does motive mean and why would we try to guess it???
If you are playing some kind of game with us that wouldn't be welcome.

I know that the store, where I purchased my T5, sold several dozens a week during the first months of the introduction. And it was the same for the T4. The Genos was sold in significantly lower numbers. During the COVID pandemic, we had severe lock downs all over Europa and it was impossible to score gigs. So sales of typical instruments used on stage and bands, have plummeted.

As a senior who depends on music business for survival , the pandemic impacted me profoundly .

moderator - my reason for the question was sincere.
