YEM 2.6.0 supports sx700 and sx900, but does it support the PSR sx600?  I am running Windows 7 and can't install newer versions of YEM on my Win7 machine.  I'm trying to help out a friend who is just getting started with arranger keyboards.

Thanks in advance.

Your computer must be 64Bt. You can no longer use YEM on 32Bt.

It is Windows 7 Professional 64 bit... but you didn't answer my question.  YEM 2.6.0 is the last version that will run on Windows 7.

Hi Joe H,

Whatever Yamaha say on their download page for YEM, I have Version 2.8.1 installed and running on my Windows 7 (Home Premium SP1, 64 bit) laptop.

I don't actually use it to produce install files for my Genos, (I have a Windows 10 laptop that I use for that), but on the Win 7 machine, the program seems to run without generating errors.

I have an info file for an SX900 and the program makes installation files for this model without generating errors, although I don't have an SX900 to try to install the resulting file.

I don't have an info file for an SX600 so I can't even try to make an install file for that model.

Have you actually tried version 2.7 or later on your machine?

Thanks Ian for your response.

Yamaha states that YEM 2.8.1 will only run on windows 8.1 and windows 10.  So that's why I asked the question.  I thought someone with a sx600 would respond... hopefully someone will eventually.

I just found this:

V2.6.0 to V2.7.0

Now supports the PSR-SX600.

Incremental installation of Expansion Packs using a USB flash drive called as "Quick Installation" is now available on the PSR-SX900, the PSR-SX700 and the PSR-SX600 with the latest firmware.

Yamaha Expansion Manager no longer supports Windows 7.  Now supports only 64-bit Windows.

Solved some other minor problems.

It seems Yamaha doesn't know there is a Windows 7 64 bit OS.   ???

I'll have to try v2.8.1

;D

Hi Joe H,

I'm not sure if you spotted this, but if you want to try YEM V2.7.0 for 64 bit Windows, both it and V2.8.1 are available for download from Yamaha's PSR-SX600 product/download web page.  Here is the URL of the page on the USA site.

Thanks Ian for the link.  I'm not sure my friend is ready to buy an arranger or not so I will keep running version 2.5.3 until I upgrade my keyboard in the future.

It was confusing to me for Yamaha to publish that the latest versions of YEM will not run under Windows 7 when there is a Win 7 64 bit OS.  Again thanks for the heads up.
