Hello everyone,

I have been a regular reader of this forum for months and it has been invaluable!

We have three Yamaha arranger keyboards in the family, an "old" Clavinova CVP94, a recent PSR SX600 and a very recent PSR E473. I also wanted to order either an SX900 or a Genos but was bothered because it looks as though they'll soon be replaced by newer models. That makes me either look for a second-hand alternative or wait for the new models to be released. There are talks of a new top-of-the-range model for 2023.

I'd like to order styles collections from the forum (and be a supporting member), but I don't know which styles are best for the keyboards we own (especially for the E473). Also I'd like styles or registrations corresponding to actual songs rather than types of music such as ballroom, rock or trance, etc.

I thought the E473 would load the styles I got for the SX600 but mostly the answer is no (or they don't sound right), which is not good news for me. It may be possible to tweak the hundreds of song styles I found on the forum in order to make them work for the E473, but I don't know how. Any help from you will be greatly appreciated!

This is a great forum!
Best regards to you all,
Dov

Hi Dov :)

In the main site there's the Keyboard Utility Programs pages
https://psrtutorial.com/util/index.html

And do you know Jørgen Sørensen's site? The Unofficial YAMAHA Keyboard Resource Site
http://www.jososoft.dk/yamaha/software.htm

There are many utilities at both of these that will help you sort out, and tweak, your style files. When you know what each keyboard needs it should make it easier for you to figure how to add to your collection, it must be difficult to have styles for each when they are different.
I'm currently going through the many styles I've collected, sifting them out to suit my S900, which uses the old SFF1 format, and a selection of programs from these sites is a great help.

Many thanks to you for taking the time to welcome and inform me.

I have placed an order for the lessons collection and 3 styles collections and received them. It's just amazing and will help me so much!

Best regards,
Dov
