Genos trouble gone

I did the soft reset as advised by Fred Smith and my problem seems to have disappeared. Let's hope that it stays banished for a long time. I was very worried when that happened as I'll be gigging 6 times a week from the 28th of April till the 31st of October.

I played for a couple of hours on the Genos and the problem did not return. I finally went to buy myself a surge protector, something that I should have done long ago already.

Thinking back, my piano kept cutting of it's sound when I was performing two days ago, something that it does when the power supply gets dodgy, and the area where I played is known for power surges. It must have left a bug in the Genos.

Thank you Fred.

PS: My original playlist seems to have disappeared, does anyone know how I can recover it? I looked at Yamaha downloads but I couldn't find an option for playlist downloads.

Thank  you all in advance.

Hi Pianoman,

You can download all three Genos Playlists (Bonus Playlist, Bonus Playlist for Superior Pack, Discover Genos Playlist) from the Genos download site:

https://uk.yamaha.com/en/products/musical_instruments/keyboards/arranger_workstations/genos/downloads.html#product-tabs

Hi Chris.
Thanks for the response.
I have the Superior Pack and the others too.
I'm having trouble accessing the original playlist that has 2000 ? registrations. I keep getting this message:

"File not found, or file name is inappropriate."

I have always had this playlist in the Pendrive under the keyboard and it always worked. I'm having this problem after updating to version 2.11. Am I missing something?

Best Regards.
Abby.

Hello again Chris.
I've got it now.
It was the pendrive that was the issue. I had installed another  pendrive under the keyboard. I replaced my 16GB Kingston pendrive with a 32GB Verbatim one.
I did copy all the contents of the 16GB pendrive to the 32GB one, but maybe it is not compatible with the playlist, even though I could access all registrations and styles on it.

Everything is back to normal again, though I wasted an entire day yesterday trying to figure out why the playlist was not working.
Best Regards,
Abby.

Hi Abby,

It is important that the respective folder with the "Bonus" playlist data is copied to the USB stick exactly as instructed, i.e. to the root directory of the stick. In addition, the stick used must be recognized as "USB 1". So if you have a stick installed in the compartment on the bottom of Genos, the playlist data must be on THIS stick. In addition, no other stick should be connected when starting the Genos, otherwise this second stick could be accidentally recognized as "USB 1". (Then the main stick on the bottom of the Genos would be "USB 2" and the playlists would not work because the registrations would not be found.)

Best regards,
Chris

Will do.
I didn't see your message before, I had gone to watch some friends playing.
Thanks again Chris.

Abby.
