Hello friends!
I have been rehearsing a lot of songs lately, and it takes some time! And here comes a friend of mine with MIDI files of the songs. I tried them on the Genos. They mostly sound fine. But they are LOUD! My plan was to mute the melody travk and play that for myself, using the MIDI instead of a style. But til MIDI drowns out the sound of the keyboard when I play. I am afraid to fiddle with the MIDI player because the volume is just right when I record my own MIDIS on the Genos,so I don't want to disturb that. What should I do. I have never used MIDI files before, thinking it was kind of "faking it." Better to play with a style. But it is tempting to try it on some of the difficult songs I am struggling to learn :) In any case the MIDIS are super useful for me to use when practicing! Maybe I should stick to using them just for that?

Toril,

You can adjust the volume using the Slider Assign button. Press it until you get to the B screen. There you will see Song A and Song B. depending on which player you're using you can adjust that volume. After you get it balanced make a Registration to remember that setting or you will have to do it each time.
Using a Midi for a live performance is tough. If you make a mistake on the parts you will be playing yourself, the MIDI doesnt wait for you, and you play catch up for the rest of the song.
You might be better off using MidiWorks YA and making a style from the MIDI.

Thanks a lot Rich D! Yes, I discovered that it is not so easy to play along with a MIDI!! Convert it to a style is a good idea.
