SX600 and Cakewalk

I would like to try out some midi songs on my laptop first, before transferring them to the keyboard. I know that I can change which instrument/voice is used for which midi track on the keyboard, but it's a little bit complicated and long procedure (mostly because SX600 lacks the touchscreen) - it should be easier to do in Cakewalk. I've figured out that for that I apparently need an instrument definition file that should be loaded into Cakewalk, but I can't find one for SX600 neither here https://usa.yamaha.com/support/faq/proaudio/1377.html nor here http://www.jososoft.dk/yamaha/ins_files.htm Does this exist anywhere or is some of the existing files close to SX600 so I can at least start making the file myself from some reasonably good template?

Second question, I'm printing out note sheets from Cakewalk so that I can practice some songs. The printer is HP Laser MFP 137 and generally works fine. My problem is, all the thin lines in note sheets (staves, ledger lines, stems, ties) get printed out super thin, almost invisible. Paper size is adjusted correctly, contents is not zoomed out to small size, all the other stuff is of normal size and normal thickness. How do I tell Cakewalk to print thicker lines; or should I adjust something in the printer settings, though absolutely everything else gets printed out perfectly fine?

Set the SX700 as an instrument, everything will be fine if you use the sx600.
When printing, select 2 or 4 options from the image.

Hi! Go for the SX700, as stated by cboku, as it is the closest match. You will be missing 47 entries for instruments that are on the SX600 but not on the SX700 (mostly ethnic instruments), and you will have 212 instrument entries which are not on the SX600 (but are on the SX700).

The best would be to edit the INS file (it is a text file, that can be edited with any text editor like Notepad) to add the missing instruments and delete the ones that are not available on the SX600, but this is a tedious and error-prone process.

Regards!

Thank you. I think I'll try making a proper SX600 INS file. I'm reasonably sure I've already got all the instruments correctly; made a small application in Visual Studio that parses data from Yamaha's PDF document. I still have to add missing drum kits and generally align everything with SX700 template file. I'll share the file after completion and at least some minimal testing.
