NOVICE STYLES QUESTION

I have just purchased an SX900 for my wife which should be here next week. I have a Genos  and I have built up a large collection of various styles from T5 and genos as well as internet downloads, all on USB stick  and am wondering if these will play be compatible with the SX or will I have to hunt for new styles all over again.

Hi tommac,

There are no S.Art2 Voices on the SX900 and fewer S.Art(1) and Mega Voices than on the Genos. In many cases, styles programmed for Genos or Tyros5 will work on the SX900 without modification (as stated by Mike). In other cases, however, it might be necessary to revoice certain style parts.

Well, it has arrived and I am rather pleased with it.  Ok its not a genos, but hey, for a home player (not very good, one year into learning)  its brilliant. Most of the styles I have collected have seemed fine so far.

Hi Tommac,
I recommend checking that all the voices of the style are active and set correctly. Many styles I have (certainly many of those dedicated to Genos) are not connected to the relative voice (see attached photo) in some it is the drums, in others the bass or chord 1/2 or faser 1/2 ... and it is also valid for pad) in these cases the icon appears with the piano keys or total black, these style parts  not play and must be set manually by assigning the missing voice ... at least this is what happens to me. It is always necessary to check because the absence of a part of style is not always audible (perceptible). It is necessary to enter the "channel" function and check all 8 channels.
PS : my observation is that of a beginner so I apologize if it is not correct. Overover will be able to confirm or deny...
