Sorry for posting this in the Genos forum but I find that this is where many of the "experts" are.

I have a Genos and a new SX900 for travel. I am trying to move some of my content to the SX900. Everything works well except certain *drum kits*. When I select them for installation, they get "greyed out" and I get a notice "This content cannot be installed on the selected instrument."

This drum kits worked on the Tyros 4, 5, Genos and PSR S975.

What can I do to make them work on the SX900?

If they are greyed out it means they are not compatible with the SX900.

Hi chony,

these "orange" icons in YEM are voices which are originally based on Preset voices (but can also contain additional wave samples).

If you still have the original .UVD voice files (that you used with Tyros4), you could try to newly import these .UVD voice to the YEM. (Use "Import Content" function to import the .UVN voices to a new, empty Pack or to an already existing Pack.) The Voices are thereby automatically converted again. Maybe they can then be used on the SX900.

Best regards,
Chris

Hi chony

I have also Genos and SX-900.
Are you sure they worked on PSR S-975? If they worked on S-975 than they must work on SX-900.
What I see on video look like they are UVN voices with some internal Tyros samples.

That is my MAIN problem with SX-900. I also bought as back-up to my Genos but now I have a HUGE problem because most of my stuff are createed from MIXED internal/external samples in my Genos.
NOW nothing can be used in SX-900 and All my set is created almost 100% from Custom voices/drums.
I ma hoping Yamaha will fix that in next coming updates.

For sure that drums doesn't work on S-975, I have this problem to the beginnings with S970 and now with SX900
The second level of Yamaha keyboard doesn't know to work with drums with internal samples like T4; T5 and Genos.
In my country internal sounds is like add-on's for most of the players, first is the memory and custom voices, and for this the <gray drums> it is a big issue.

Hi Misu
I agree with you 100%. The Sx-900 is really one of TOP yamahas and missing that functions.

Hi alanstechnical,

Which YEM version are you using? If you are not using the current version 2.8.1, I recommend upgrading to this. The relevant pack should then first be deleted from the YEM and re-imported. It may then work as expected.

It also doesn't hurt to delete the Install Target from the YEM, re-export the Instrument Info (.n27) from the instrument and re-import it into the YEM.

Best regards,
Chris

It was a problem with the Yamaha Expansion Manager

I got it fixed by downloading an older version... I still don't know why only that 2 voice files from Yamaha itself is not working.

Thanks.

Are you sure that you had used YEM V2.8.1 first? V2.8.0 had such an issue, so never use V2.8.0.
